Are you sick of not being able to see the words in ClockworkMod Recovery? Are you sick of the volume rocker skipping lines and disabling the back key? Well, I sure the heck am. Here's a fix.

It WAS baked into P3's first version of his rom for the gnex, so I have it left over from that, but you can flash it on your own through fastboot.

It works great, been using it for a couple of weeks now. Just make sure you don't "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" from Rom Manager. It will overwrite it.

I was getting assert errors using P3's version of this recovery (which was built by the same dev). Specifically, I believe the problem was with GummyNex. This was mentioned in the thread, just letting people know about it in case they don't read the whole RootzWiki thread.

It was stated to be a problem in the updater script of the zip you were trying to install and could be fixed, but that's of little help to people experiencing the error who aren't savvy enough to unpack the updater and don't want to wait for a new version.

So, if you experience assert errors with this recovery, revert to the standard CWM and try again.

Have seen a lot of reports & errors with ROM installs with this version. Just know if you have issues to go back to stock CWM 5.5.0.4 through rom manager.

I can read it fine, but geesh sometimes the scrolling drives me batty

Unstableapps has release his touch-based CWM alpha. Head over to rootzwiki to get it (GSM and CDMA).

It's working great on my GNex. Power cycle after installing if Rom Manager Force Closes.

Have you tried to restore a nandroid from the previous version of CWM on it yet? That seems to be the hardest thing for alternate recoverys from what I have seen in the past.

The developer released this as a stand alone mod yesterday or the day before. I flashed it last night and love it. I could read the test before but the scrolling issue was infuriating. I once backed up my ROM three times in a row accidentally because of the scrolling issue.

I am reading a lot of issues with flashing roms with this recovery fwiw. Might want to hold off till updated & before getting frustrated.

Yes they are. Steven might have thought they were one in the same.

There has been an update to the touch based recovery, users are saying the kinks have mostly been worked out now. Also Roboto font has been added. It is still in a "alpha" stage though.

It's weird, but it's called beta 1 now even though the OP says alpha in one place. On the XDA linked discussion board the dev calls it beta 1. Rootz link above has it at beta 1 now too. Time to flash this, it's looking much more stable.

edit: works great. love the softkey mods. backing up my current rom now.
