So when I am swyping many times I will be tracing a word and without lifting my finger it will put in a word, and then another it is very annoying. Anyone have this issue and have any idea how to make it better? This seems to happen quite often and it is driving me nuts I never had this issue with my dinc.

i have the same problem, and it happens pretty often. i had thought it was due to my low end screen protector, but if this is a problem identified by others, i guess it's the actual program. how unfortunate. i really love swype, i hope they roll out a fix. just when switching phones and re-downloading the program became so easy! sigh.

I've got 3.26.92D.35381.to

Apparently you aren't using the stock keyboard. I just checked and I can't do anything that resembles swiping in the stock one.

The stock one is called trace. It only seems to work on texting and emails though and won't work in the web browser which is annoying. I switched over to SlideIt and it's working for me.

My question to those of you having this problem, which version of Swype are you using? After an annoying couple of months I think I pin-pointed it. Versions 3.25.xxxxx don't have this issue whereas 3.26+ do.

Good find. I'd be surprised if they didn't fix it quickly.

Weird, I didn't know it was there either. I've gone back and forth between a few different ones including SlideIt, but right now Swype seems to be the most accurate for me, even factoring in the occasional split word.

Trace and SlideIT are nowhere near as accurate as Swype.

I've tweeted to Swype several times, and emailed them, with no real response.

There isn't much discussion of this on the Swype forums.

Perhaps when we get ICS, this will be fixed. I have no idea! Very very annoying for fast swypers.

People swyping at average speed don't always experience it. But if I go fast, I can make it happen every time.

It's as if I pick up my finger in the middle of the keyboard, and start a new word (which I don't!)

So those of you who are having problems...please check your Swype version number. If you're 3.26+...try downgrading to 3.25.xxxxx and see if it fixes your problem. It seems to have gone away for me.

From my understanding, with Swype 3.26, the keyboard is dynamically drawn on the screen meaning there are no longer any more hard-coded png files. This newer dynamic method makes it easier to maintain the keyboard to support various languages. My guess is that this change created the problem for our Rezounds.

I do not have any idea where to find a 720p 3.25 swype. I didn't know it existed! But, since the day I got my rezound and installed Swype, this problem has existed.

Does the WVGA version of Swype do this?

Well I got around to looking in the Swype forums, and apparently they've known about it for weeks but have no particular interest in fixing it for us:
unfortunately it is not in the scope of the beta test to resolve these issues on devices they may crop up on. It may work in a later build, but I can't guarantee it, sorry. :-(
I guess we're free to come to our own conclusions about a company that doesn't care whether their product -- free or not -- works well for their customers.

In that spirit, allow me to repost links to their competitors SlideIT Keyboard and SwiftKey X Keyboard.
