Galaxy Nexus ICS 4.0.2

When I setup the browser options it let me set a homepage. For me its Google.

On my home PC when I open the browser thats where it goes.

On the Galaxy it goes to the last page I opened and there is no way to get to the home page short of a book mark or entering an address.

I just want it to default to the home page when opened.

Thanks

Which browser? I have a home button in Dolphin HD. If you exit clearing data, it should open at home. Should be a setting for exit options.

Stock browser. I just want it to open to google.com when I open it from the home screen. Not to the last visited page. I seen the page, I don't want to see it every time I open the browser. Mercy, why is there a home page setting if you cannot use it. ??

Is it not in browser > more > settings > set home page?
Yeh, been there, done that. What good is it? I set it to google.com but I never see a way to go home.

I don't think you understand what a home page is. It doesn't mean "the page you will always see first under any circumstances." It means the default page. So, for example, if you close all existing windows in the default browser, it'll load your home page as a new window. If you click the home button in the browser, it'll load your home page.

Nevertheless, I think you can get what you want.

Instead of having the browser button on your launcher screen, have a bookmark shortcut for google.com and then click that instead of the browser button.

If you like the look of the browser icon instead of bookmark icon, you can use an alternative launcher like ADW, which allows you to change each launcher to its own custom icon.

Similar problem but I don't just want a band-aide solution. USAToday has hi-jacked my Browser. The problem is that I can't get access to the Browser settings to restore my favorite home site. I can't get to the navigation ribbon that I used to access by scrolling upwards to the top of the screen. I tried to un-install the browser and then re-install it via the "aps" tab in the settings but the best I could do there was to disable of force shutdown. I need either a way to get to the settings for browser or a way to un-install it.

I'll search the blog for the un-install option when I finish here.
