ok...so what the hell is up with flash?

it's not too crazy to ask if there will be a non-adobe flash. Ubuntu has non-adobe flash, so it's at least possible.

Possible? Umm ... yea, OK. I guess anything is "possible". But from everything I've read, the Ubuntu community isn't exactly loving their third-party Flash solutions. They would LOVE Adobe to release 10.1 for Ubuntu as well.

No, there is no "off market solution"! And there will NEVER be a third-party solution. (I think that's what you wanted to ask in the first place.)

PLEASE HEAR THIS!

Flash is written by Adobe. And when Adobe wants to release Flash 10.1 for Android, they will. And we will wait. There is NOTHING else we can do. Nothing.

about time someone said it loud n clear :D:rolleyes:

PS kool avatar btw n u can add one more thnx to your record on my behalf :D

Honestly, how often would you use it? We have a youtube app, actually, we have an app for most of what flash would do. The only time I would have used flash since I got the phone is to maby play a game on addicting games or miniclip, or to prove a friend wrong that the Halo Reach beta comes out May 3rd, not March 3rd. Yeah it will be nice, but its no rush for me. However I would like the browser a little snappier. Come on 2.1! :)

I wasn't trying to say it was likely, or that it was rational to ever expect it to happen. But you said flash is written by Adobe, and I thought it worth pointing out that apparently that's not exclusively true.

My local radio stations' live broadcasts are only available in Flash format, unless I'm misstaken (WMMR and WYSP in Phila, Pa.)

So there's at least one reason I'd really like to have it. :D

Quite a bit actually. A LOT of photo sites use Flash. I always use Flash for my band's websites. Flash galleries are a great way to post a ton of shots from the weekend gigs. Not to mention that some companies have entire Flash sites that have no HTML option. My last band's photographer has an all-Flash site. Checkout Artistic Photography by Glenda. Now try that site on the DROID. :(

I could access my slingbox, access my XM online account, manage my SIP clients, or manage any other online account with Flash based sites, which is about 75% of what I use the phone for aside from making calls, "without" having to wait for an app.

The same thing that is up with a native 64bit version of Flash for Windows. The *nix testing has been going on for over 2 years IIRC...and yet nothing, absolutely nothing, for 64bit Windows users....

Not many x64 browsers though. IE has a separate one, dunno about opera, FF i think you need to compile from the repo.
