Short answer:
1.) Take back cover off; boot up phone
2.) in dialer, put in *#*#4636#*#*
3.) hit Phone Info
4.) Set dropdown to CDMA EVDO/LTE - Auto

I posted this on XDA right now because I just ran into this error, but here's my entire post, with the fix included, for anyone who when they just reset their phone, it began to bootloop (or load up to sense for 1 second, then reset itself every single time with the battery cover on):

i had no problems. NONE.

i decided to do a fresh restart of my phone so i poewred it down, and did a battery pull after the phone was completely off. turned it back on, gets to lock screen, i unlock......sits..loading...screen goes black, and whattya know, white HTC splash screen. a few times. it's *** **** bootlooping FOR NO REASON. this is just absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

i think it lasted longer without the cover on the back, meaning theres something up with the network....i remember reading about this, it bootlooped with the back cover ON...anyone remember hearing that too?

EDIT* this WORKED! anyone who has this issue please do the following: (source http://www.droidforums.net/forum/htc...boot-loop.html)

STEP 1: TAKE BACK COVER OFF. it will load into sense and not reboot now.

*#*#4636#*#* Under phone info you will find that the network is factory set to WCDMA Preferred... I guess the SIM card decides sometime along the way that it doesn't like that much... Setting the network to CDMA EVDO/LTE - Auto completely corrects the problem

another poster said that after you do this, hit home, power down the phone, pull sim card out, put it back in, then reset it. i didn't do this; i just went back, put the battery cover on, it froze like usual, reset itself, and now it's working perfectly. holy hell this g*d d*mn phone just gave me a heart attack!

for some reason, this is what happens: under phone info, as it says, it will reset to WCDMA Preferred for NO reason whatsoever! this must have happened when i shut my phone down; other people are reporting that doing "reboot" does this frequently for them! this is the first time in my month of ownership i saw this happen, so this was new to me...but thankfully, we have a fix!

I also had the boot loop problem with this information set to CDMA auto (PRL)...

weird! this fixed it for me, though, and a few others. hmm.

there's more than1 reason for a bootloop obv lol but atleast now you can check to see if THIS is the cause, ya kno?

True! And I should have been more clear...using the CDMA/LTE option i have NOT had this problem. I think that either CDMA option mite cause problems for me, I dont think my particular phone likes 3g!

(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access)

Wideband CDMA is a third-generation (3G) wireless standard which utilizes one 5 MHz channel for both voice and data, initially offering data speeds up to 384 Kbps. WCDMA is the 3G technology used in the US by AT&T and T-Mobile

I'm guessing there's no hardware in the phone to support this setting. Not sure why they would include this setting as well as the World setting on the phone. Someone should try throwing an AT&T or T-mobile SIM card and report back.

Hey guys...Just had the boot loop issue start last night and wanted to weigh in with my thoughts. I pulled the sim card and did the "*#" thing and all seemed to work. I was set to WCDMA PREFERRED, and as soon as I set it back to auto, everything was good to go. The one thing I did different yesterday was use data while talking on the phone. I was set to CDMA only when I did this. The phone worked fine the rest of the night, but as soon as I switched batteries, it went into boot loop. My theory is that as soon as we try and do simultaneous data/talk on 3g, it changes the setting to WCDMA PREFERRED. Then when you try to reboot the phone, the Sim card doesn't recognize this. I'm curious to know if anyone else was doing data/talk before they went into boot loop.

Are you a Verizon customer? I am and cant use data and talk at the same time. Are you a root user?

Woke up this morning and my phone was bootlooping.

Did a couple of battery pulls but couldn't remember the process to get into the bootloader page (had a samsung fascinate previously and haven't had to do this with my rezound yet)

After a few battery pulls it wouldn't boot anymore, would just stick on the HTC page. Even when it was booting, as soon as I unlocked to do the steps above, it would shut back down.

Called Verizon and they didn't know how to get into the bootloader, either (!) so they're sending me a new phone.

Just curious if there is anything I can do - especially since I haven't backed up in a while (dumb, I know).

When I click Factory Reset, FastBoot or Recovery in the bootloader the phone simply shuts off.

Any ideas?

I had the exact same problem this morning. The tech had me hold down the down volume rocker when the phone is on the white HTC screen. It then goes to a white screen with little Androids on the bottom. We ended up using the volume rocker to scroll down to Factory Reset and selected it with the power button. The phone is now fresh and working. We'll see what the next few weeks hold! I am considering running through the CDMA process outlined above, even though the phone is working normally now...

Have you removed the battery, the sim card, the SD card and held the power button for about 10 seconds? Once you do that, install the battery, power it up, if it powers up, power it down, remove battery, install the SIM AND the battery, does it power up? Power it down and finally install the Battery, SIM, AND the SD card and see if it powers up.
