Help Some Apps not staying on the LG Optimus V phone

Here is the deal .... new LG Optimus V. I downloaded many apps from Android Market and all went well. These apps are currently on my phone. The other day I downloaded the following apps: Love Ringtones, Music Therapy for Sound Sleep and Relaxation Ringtones. They are on the phone upon download and I have used them. Once I turn off the phone which I do quite often at night ... when I turn on the phone the next day those three are gone. The rest are still showing and usable. Android Market says to go to Menu and uninstall and re-install. I do not see a Menu on my Android Market to uninstall. I have had to go via the phone and find the app all over again and uninstall. What gives? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you move them to the sd card? Does the market still show them as installed?

Android Market says to go to Menu and uninstall and re-install. I do not see a Menu on my Android Market to uninstall.

Menu means the menu button, far left one. And it probably means the main menu, from the homescreen hit menu, touch settings then go down to applications. All of your installed apps should be listed there.

I am not sure what happened, however, the three that were missing are now showing up and working fine. Thanks for the help.

Make sure that any apps that are widgets are not moved to the SD card. They'll disappear when you reboot the phone. Gadgets must stay within internal memory and not on the sd card.

Some apps don't like to be on the sd card. If you experience any problems with an app that's on the sd card, moving to phone will usually cure the problem.

Widget apps do not work on the sd card at all.
Any app that has Widgets incorporated into it might not work well on the sd card either. Just long press any empty part of the screen and select "Widgets". Scroll thru to see those apps that have widgets incorporated into them.

How do I get to the SD card to see what is on it? This is a new phone for me and trying to find my way around.

Download AndroZip from the market. It's really user friendly. If you every decide to root your phone then go with ES File Explorer. It's a little more complicated, but has root file browsing capabilities .

With AndroZip just open it up. It opens to the sd card.
Tap on a folder to open it up. Tap on a file,zip,txt,img ect. Get familiar with those options.
Long press the same file and get familiar with those options.

I would suggest Link2SD, it isn't a file explorer like Andy suggest. But, being a newbie I think this will be better for you. It has tabs that shows which apps are on internal, SD and which can not be moved.

If you have a home network with shares on it, ES File Explorer is worth taking a look at. Not only will it allow you to browse your sd card, it can browse your network shares as well. I'm sure there are other apps to do that, but I stopped looking when I found ES. It's exactly what I needed.

To make things easier so I can see on one screen what apps I have moved to the SD card, I use Android Assistant. Tap on the app, then up top tap on Tools, then at the bottom tap on the tiny sd card icon that says App 2 SD. On the App 2 SD screen you'll have three tabs up top; the first one shows you what apps (if any) can be moved to the SD card. The second tab shows you what apps are already on the SD card, and the third tab shows you what's on the phones internal memory.

If you are unsure about what apps are widgets, long press your finger on your phones desktop and a menu will appear. Tap on Widgets. Then you'll see a list of apps that are Widgets... these are built to sit on your phones desktop (and ones that should never be moved to the SD card).
