Ad Free still blocking ads after uninstall

Yesterday I rooted my TP and all went well. I've been playing around with different root apps and one of my favorite is of course Ad Free. However, I decided that I wasn't quite ready to block all ads on my tablet browser without being able to choose individual pages to unblock.

So, I uninstalled Ad Free.

Well, all the ads are still being blocked. I've cleared the cache and rebooted the device several times. Ads are still blocked.

Any thoughts?

I suppose the next step would be to unroot and root the tablet again.

I've never liked ad free but NO NEED to unroot and reroot, do have Titanium Backup? I would back up all your apps and then do a factory reset, then go back into TB and download the wanted data from your apps.

Did you also clear data in the ad free app before uninstalling?

If you don't have TB, buy it. It's the best rooted app on the market, imo

Because all AdFree does is update your hosts file which is something that isn't deleted when you delete the app.

That did it!

PS. I re-installed Ad Free, cleared the app data, and uninstalled it. That didn't work. Also, clearing the browser's app data didn't help either. I guess the only easy way to get ride of that hosts file is to manually delete it. That's dead simple too -- if you know about it.

same problem.
adfree refuses to block ads in free apps and therefore won't start the app.
uninstalled adfree android and tried to delete /system/etc/hosts from phone
but got an error message - "hosts can not be deleted!"

hi reaing this an i need to do the same,how do i get t the system/etc/hosts file either from pc or on the phone,the phone is rooted.thanks marki
