Help Prevent Market from re-downloading and installing all my old apps??

Hey all - love the brand new SGN - frickin' beautiful.
BUT - I *don't* want all the 300+ apps I promiscuously installed on my old Droid X to follow me over.
after I initially activated the phone and signed in I noticed that Market was happily Hoovering all my old apps down to my SGN, this displeased me greatly so I did a Hard Reset and then when Market started up again I Force Quit/Wiped Cache/Wiped Data on it and it finally stopped (FC'ing by itself wasn't enough!)

Anyway - now I'm scared to sign in to Market again... is there some way I can access the Market WITHOUT it auto-downloading all my previous downloads??

I experienced this very same frustration. I don't know whether I solved it correctly or not, but see my thread below for what I did to stop the auto-downloading. If you figure anything else out or can confirm this works for you, please do share.
