Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hmmm, and where did you get these tags? Amazon? Or is there a cheaper place?

I ordered 10 of these it was like $12. They are re-programmable and come unformatted. You need 4.0.3 ROM (although not all 4.0.3 ROMS work they need the correct updated binaries) to write and read these. If you're on 4.0.2 and sticking to it then you need to request they be pre-formatted to NDEF iirc. I'm on Romans build 14 and they write and read these with no issues. Fabs/bigxies, kejars Gummy, and Romans build 14 are three 4.0.3 ROMs confirmed with NFC working on these stickers I've tested them.

Yea the stock clock app. Although you could get a 3rd party desk clock and have it launch that instead.

What is the desk dock mode with the DX? Is it like the Bionic? I have my screen set to not turn off while charging so the stock clock stays up. Touch the screen and it dims even further for nice night viewing.

Can't wait till the pogo pin dock comes out!

Thanks for the info. I am going to look at 3rd party desk docks...I miss the one from my DX. It had the time, alarm, weather, messages, etc, with some various customization. I'm disappointed the Nexus doesn't have that.

Hmmm...striking out on a compatible desk dock app....anyone here have a suggestion for a good one?

Hey all :)

Mind if I share another image with you all tonight? If so:

ICE by slitherjef, on Flickr

I managed to get some place a bit more photo worthy tonight before the sun set and I shot some images, wanting to well, get some shots and try out that HDR software a bit more to see if its worth buying.

The last shot I posted was in my back yard that did not really call for the HDR treatment. I think the shot posted above did deserve the treatment. I was shooting into the sun!

Once again, I would love your thoughts on the images (a monochrome version will follow) I DO understand the image may be a bit saturated and a bit surreal looking but that could be due to me not having much HDR skills.

I DO like what I see and feel I could play with this software and come up with something different all day long.

If anyone has tips on photomatix 4.1 I would love to hear them :)

Here is the monochrome slightly different version:

PS, I hope no one minds me posting photos here and asking for thoughts

The first one is beautiful. The bridge reminds of life and the way it disappears is the unknown.

Well, considering I have full exterior lighting, all doors and windows sensored, and an interior motion controlled camera system which records anything which moves while the alarm is armed "away", I might just catch the losers who stole my car this way :)

But no worries, my car's nav system has old maps, so doesn't have my neighborhood, so I have it programmed to an address near the entrance to my neighborhood ;)

Did anyone else get a mental picture of Vectors house from Despicable Me when reading this ?

Well I've been lurking and I figured I'd post mainly because...

I'M GETTING ONE SOON :D :D :D

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if you could download and change the fonts on your Nexus without rooting? I was able to on my Fascinate via this app that's available for Galaxy S devices only... and obviously the GNex isn't a Galaxy S lol

Welcome to the party!!!!

I chose "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster". Up next "Talladega Nights".

I figured everyone (that doesn't already have a similar program) could use this and would like keeping their $35 in their pocket. Glad you could use it!

Sure you can. But tasker uses GPS/positioning to tell whether you are in the car or not. NFC doesn't require this "positioning" aspect and I have not seen any variance in battery life with it on or off. I just got mine all setup today and it's amazingly convenient, lazy you could say I guess.

My car cup holder has a sticker inside. When I set my phone down, wifi goes OFF, Pandora app opens and begins streaming, volumes are maxed out vibration turned off, and Car Home/Maps initiated.

When I walk inside my house my BT is turned off, WIFI enabled, volumes lowered, Car/home and pandora closed, and Phandroid app opened :).

Being a Worship leader at church, I've created a church tag (in the audio closet doorway) that enables WIFI, turns off all my car profile thingies and puts all tones on silent and enables vibration for rings so I won't forget as I have in the past :p

My bedside table where I charge it turns volumes down low, enables desk clock, and turns on the alarm.

Geek/dork heaven!

And thanks out to Stiggy for aiding me in getting this working!

edit: can't find a gps toggle I guess it will be implemented in a later release I hope!

I need to know where you got your NFC tags! Please........

jmar

EDIT: you ninja'd my request before I ever posted it! Now, that is ninja skill! Just ordered 10 NFC taggies and am on AOKP Build 14...loving it. Hey jbdan...does Android Beam work on build 14? My buddy has a Nexus S and we really wanna touch phone backs...lol.

Hahahah, why??

I've been learning and setting up for about 3 hours.

Now I just need Google to give me a way to send links directly from my phone to Chrome. Or am I missing that setting somewhere?

Oh yeah, and playing Entanglement which I believe a kiss/kick goes to Halon for as well. :)

Hey blue...when did you become guide? Still rockin the Rezound?

Hey jmar, yeah just my 3rd day green. Been visiting around the forums beyond my usual haunts -- there is so much happening! Four new mods just today as well.

Loving the Rez! I didn't previously load that many apps on my phones, but it's not breaking a sweat with 42 so far. :)
