Root Help with CM7 rom ringer settings please..

Alright, I give up! I have been everywhere (with exception of the CORRECT place!) looking for the method by which I make my ringer audible...! Crazy!

not sure i understand what you mean by audible

if you want to use a ringtone you can do 1 of two things
store it on the sdcard under media/audio/ringtone
or you can place it in system/media/audio/ringtone
make sure to reboot and wipe cache and dalvic if placing in the system folder

To clarify - I am not able to receive calls - they go directly to my voice mail! Ringer does not sound.

I'm REALLY getting frustrated now with this CM7 flash. Now I'm having FC issues with "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". This happened as I was trying to open Sounds from the Menu>Settings>Sound. I hate to have to reflash this ROM for the third time without finding another known clean CM7 ROM. Any suggestions at this point is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you need to reflash the rom unfortunately. Make sure you wipe really well

I was afraid of that. Should I get another ROM and load it to my card instead of the current one? I'm just a bit shy to try the same one again as this is now the second time I've come up with 'issues'.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: I wonder if this is not a profiles issue? I'm not very familiar with 'profiles' but anny light one can shed on the topic is def appreciated

As far as rom I say try several different ones until you find one that you really like and have no issues with

What I was really referring to is the CM7 that I have. I really like this one and would like to get it functioning altogether. I will just pay extra attention to wiping all the items as has been suggested and will wipe several times. See if that works!:)

If I'm not mistaken, you can turn off profiles. Sounds like a settings issue, was it alwasys like that since you flashed the ROM?

I would wipe 3 times or use super wipe (not sd card) and reflash CM7. I left CM7 and went with Mik3.0 and TBH I feel like going back... My point is that I think ou should give CM7 another try.

This may be a silly quesstion but - the rom file I have been trying to get to work properly here is "update-cm-7.1.0-Supersonic-signed.zip" from the Cyanogenmod website. This is not just an update that is intended to be an addendum to an earlier file? In other words, is this A COMPLETE download for this CM7 ROM?

Right, it's a complete download. You don't need to flash two rom files.

I've flashed CM7 a boatload of times....when nightly releases were literally nightly releases, I was updating it virtually every day and never had that type of issue. Only two things come to mind, a bad download of the file, or bad wiping through recovery. Make sure you're running Amon RA 2.3 or higher and when doing the initial flash of the rom that you wipe everything except the SD card.

Just a thought though, are you integrated with google voice? Do you have google voice installed on CM7? Maybe that's causing issues. If you aren't integrated with GVoice, then I honestly don't know why your phone wouldn't be ringing if it's not one of the two issues I listed above.

And just to throw in my $0.02, I think Deck's is superior to Team Nocturnal's Xplod. I am pretty much 100% golauncher on AOSP, so a 200 MB download on an AOSP rom just seems like wasted space to me. Deck's is nice and lean. The only smaller download you would find would be OMGB or OMFGB, which is actually pretty good, but Deck's has more tweaks built in.
