I was browsing ebay for a new battery for my phone because the 1300 simply is not cutting it. im on CM7 Final and im averaging 5-6 of battery with constant use. This battery is 1830 mAH which is a extreme improvement and should give me a extra hour or two. The only downside to buying is the price its about 25$ but you get a few extra cables and what not anyways im trying to get the word out for anyone looking for a new battery :)

By the way im no way affiliated with this person.

We don't know if it's some cheap battery that dies after 50 charges. Better to save your $25 and find one coming out of China for $5 and wait the few weeks to get it.

thats true. I am so happy I got the 5 dollar china battery, becuase even if it dies in the next 6 months, I ALREADY got so much use out of it to justify the price.

if its not an OEM battery, its just not guaranteed to last. thats a fact, so as long as your willing to use non OEM parts, you should at least get the cheaper one. a bonus is that I myself have it and can vouch for its quality, so have others here.

just buy the battery from the ideos x6 or x8... they are the exact same dimensions.

Do you mean something like this would work?

Because it's under $4 for a 1600mah! :D

Although the 1850mah is very tempting.. just not sure how much more battery life it would give. I used the 1500mah Anker battery and noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever except not being able to read the temperature of the battery. So I'm now using stock.

yes. the battery I bought explicitly says on its own sticker that it will fit a IDEOS X6 and Triumph WX435, so I would say yeah.

So what are you guys recommending? The cheap batt? Help me save some money if it is any good :)

I have it. it works great. better to have two batteries over one, and if the cost is only a few bucks, theres not much to lose.

go for the cheap battery. your going to love having TWO batteries WAY more than the 20 minutes or so extra life those extra mAH bring.

I have that 1600 mah battery, and judging from normal usage. I haven't perceived any difference over the original.
Perhaps there is some, but not enough to consider it a worthy upgrade.
I'm tempted by that 1830 mah battery though. Its pricier but the extra charge and car adapters make it a little worth it.

That's not how they measure batteries. Its by the cells in the batteries... just like a AAA battery is 1.5 volts and a AA battery also has 1.5 volts, but there different sizes

Number of cells generally specifies voltage.
Size specifies CAPACITY (amps)
Your example illustrates my point exactly.

The only way your gonna get a higher capacity battery, (of a given technology) is make it bigger. Now, having said that, there are different ways of rating capacity, some are more honest than others. There is also a variance in capacity in any given batch, from sample to sample.
A nominal rating means that no example will be less than rated capacity.
A maximum rating means that a given sample MAY be as high as "...." But in no case higher. This means that virtually all examples will be less than the rating printed.
I did a post awhile back measuring the motorola vs Anker. They re ratings are over 1000 mah difference, and they are virtually identical.... Except one has no thermistor.

Hmmm.. that's definitely something to think about. Thanks!

I brought one that wasn't either of those brands and the on off switch is broken now, but I enjoy it. I charged it USB most the time and used solar when I could. I kept mine in my pocket...probably why it broke, but there's no point if you don't carry it with you. perfect for charging when you're on the Jon or just don't have time for an outlet. sometimes I charged mine in my pocket, but it will get warm. I may buy one of thoses.

Huawei makes some tablets and the batteries are 2600mAH on ebay and the "look" like the exact same dimensions as the Triumph battery.

That would be cool!

but.. is that even possible? If it's the same dimensions can it possibly have a larger capacity than the Triumph stock 1380mAh battery? I'm still confused about that.

Also, this seems to be a pretty decent solar charger for those times you're stuck in the middle of nowhere (hiking, camping, etc) It's made by Arctic Cooling which has a great reputation for making CPU coolers and things of the like. Not too bad of a price either.

4440mWh USB Powered Solar Panel Charger for Cell Phone | eBay

EDIT: it can charge any USB device.. the solar charge takes about 8-10 hours which you wouldn't nearly use the entire capacity of it. So, you could charge the phone, and by the time you needed it again it would be topped off by sunlight (or even indoor light). I'm pretty tempted to buy this.

That link didn't bring it up, but I've been looking for some type of decent, light weight solar charger for my backpacking trips of a week or so. All the ones I've seen are really cheap and crappy. Arctic Cool does have a rep for quality.

Yes, I agree they do. I have a bluetooth headset by them. Lightyears ahead of the Motorola S305 headset that I owned previously.

Anyway.. I was looking at this and the description is a little deceptive however.. it says it is 4400mWa not 4400mAh. At first glance I thought 'wow that's high capacity!' but it's watt hours as opposed to amp hours.
It's still not a bad deal but just wanted to point that :)
I'm sure it's still better quality than these 10 dollar 2600mAh solar chargers floating around all over eBay.

I think a solar charger would be great.. because you would also charge your bluetooth headset, camera, or pretty much ANYTHING with a USB charger. Last winter we had a power outage that lasted around three days and I had to go out to my car to charge my phone. I would have LOVED to have a solar charger.

To get back on topic, if anyone has tried the 1830mAh battery let us know how it works out for you. I am 99% convinced that it cannot be higher capacity as someone has previously pointed out. Especially since I know how the rating system works.
