Help So what's killing my battery?

Forgot to add - I also did 3 nights of bump charging - which I understand to be letting the battery charge fully while the phone is on...then trun it off, and let it charge again until the amber light goes green. Doubt that made much difference, but for good measure it can't hurt! :)

I've done this with all my phones for a while now. Seems to always make a bit of a difference. Thanks for your input on your 2 posts.

I have 4 users with Rezounds and all of them are upset with the batter life. They get 4-5 hours before having to recharge, which I think isn't very acceptable. Especially when I have 8 TB which all last around 8 hours. One of them is so upset they want their old BB back.

One thing we have noticed is the syncing goes haywire. It will get stuck trying to sync something and fail, and try again and again until it does. Usually its the Exchange tasks. But if you look in the battery stats it doesn't show it taking that much juice. So I am unsure if that is the issue or not. Might be a data coverage issue. We supposedly have 4G here but it wouldn't surprise me if we are on the edge of it.

Bottom line is this isn't something software related then I am not going to buy another one of these because this is not working.

Technocrat - try forcing it to the evdo - honestly I felt exactly like you write, but after that, I get spectacular battery life. I don't seem to have syncing issues, and I do have them set by hand, so maybe that helps - but my gut instinct (for what it's worth) is the fact that the 3G/4G network just isn't up to snuff yet. My phone would have been dead by 1:20pm last week until I changed the settings of the network on thursday. Today I'm at 80% with only slightly less usage.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here, but if it's saying that the display is using 67%, with a lot of other little things mostly around 6% each, is there still a chance that I need to force it to EVDO to save battery life? Because I would think that it would show that cell standby would be using more if the problem with 3g/4g was the case. I'm no expert, so I might need some guidance or correction here. :)

Honestly I don't have much faith in the stock battery useage report. Mine said similar (high display and lower everything else), but the EVDO force definately gets me almost a full day out of the battery, and I'm not turing off wifi, gps, bluetooth etc. My display is about at the middle to 3/4 of the slider, and I am syncing emial every 15 minutes, FB hourly....

I just set it up to use CDMA only, no 4g, turned Facebook update intervals to never (which is not in the normal accounts and sync area, so it's unintuitive), deleted handcent and a couple other apps just for good messure, and restarted the phone. full discharge tonight and charging overnight. I'll report how the battery usage goes tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

How were able to change the Facebook settings? Does the app run all the time or is behaving once you changed it? Very interested in getting rid of that trash.

Hi all,

New Rezound owner (got it on Tuesday).

My Rezound was fully charged this AM (pulled it out at 4 am) and had minor, minor use on it in the morning - at most, checking the time or responding to a text.

Look at my phone at about 11:30am and the battery is at 47%. My phone is roguely on 1x (need to get it back to 3G), no wi-fi, brightness is probably 10-15%.

Why would it go down so much? Apps running: Twitter, Task Calendar (stock), syncing 2 GMail accounts.

How often does Twitter update? If Ur using data at 1x its going to kill Ur battery. I got the extended battery and didn't look back. It's amazing!
