Root Two notifications Ringtones trying to play at once...

Any ideas why this would be happening? Still sorting out all the settings on this CM 7 rom. I dl'd the ZEDGE ringtones app and chose a messages tone and when the notification comes in, THAT one starts but then the one that came as the default takes over! Am I missing something in my settings? Thanks...

turn one off. Maybe best to go through the message app to set the notification. you could always try going into message app and telling it not to notify but i think that will stop all notifications. Best just to use the default stuff to set things like ringtones instead of third party programs. Just use zedge to download them.

Personally I go into /system/media/audio/ringtones and /notifications and delete all of the ones that come with the rom and then just copy and paste mine into those folders reboot clean cache and dalvic and then go and set them. I find that works easiest for me.

That's exactly what I'm running. Is settings for messages SETTINGS>CALL SETTINGS>? Have been there but nothing for MESSAGES. or Is it SETTINGS>SOUND>? I cant seem to locate it...uuuggghh!

Go to your stock messaging app, settings, turn off (uncheck) notifications..done ;-)

That happened to me cause I use handscent as my msg app, just had to turn off notifications and set to silent the stock msg app.

I use Go SMS however i always remove the stock sms app. so i don't have to worry about it

Well I had to get rid of Handsent, apparently it was interfering with the stock messaging app. I really like HS but until I'm able to figure out why i can not choose my own ringtones from Zedge and use them on HS plus still have the stock messaging app on board (only bc I can't uninstall it)...

I would suggest freezing it first with titanium backup and see if it borks anything. Some roms won't be affected others will....Possibly.

If your phone doesn't get possessed and start vomiting pea soup, I think it's cool to delete it!

Also, before you delete anything you're not 100% sure about, make a nandroid backup.
