Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

If I ever have to do anything like that to my phone again I'm starting in the morning. After I was set I ended up flashing twice more.
Don't ask, it was me being slightly 'special'

Is that better or worse than exceptional?

haha i wish i could plug in external RAM AHH aint that an idea for a invention

That's essentially what ReadyBoost is. In a PC where more RAM can't be easily added, it provides disk caching which takes a big load off the existing RAM.

that android as we know it will die is a bunch of bs ... yes i see a good sizable shift from flash based to HTML browsing but saying that the Linux quality will change the openness and all that makes me hot under the color sorry had to get that out

Yeah I think that was just bloviating. The author has another article whose first sentence is "The Amazon Kindle sucks plain and simple" so he doesn't really pretend to be unbiased.

21 hours of talk time on the new Razr Maxx...might be enough to give that a try...just sayin!

Early previews said the Maxx would have HD display and other significant improvements, while some articles today say it's just bigger battery. They wouldn't bother to release a new model just for that, would they?

Gave blood today. It's 8 pm and I have an hour to go at work. I feel more tired than usual. I wonder if that's from the loss of blood?

I told you Steven, no more lunch meetings with OTD! :(

Razor when you're flashing in CWM and scrolling with the volume button, whenever you go down beyond the last item (so the highlight will now be atop the menu), then back up past the top item (so the highlight will now be at the bottom), then back down beyond the last item you have disabled the "go back" button that appears on every menu until this happens. To re-enable it do the above. Hope this explains it well, it's always been like this in CWM and with the wonky scrolling in cwm 5.5.0.4 it's easy to accidentally do.

If you've disabled this "go back" selection (which you did) it won't reboot and just sit there like it has done for you. This happened to me once on the GN and I'd remembered from my Inc days how to fix. gl!

I second this. I'm not able to give blood anymore either but thanks to all who do.
How did your daughter's MRI turn out the other day? (Or was it ct scan or surgery?) Regardless, I hope she is well.

Actually, it was a hida scan that determined that her gall bladder had to come out... and it did! Other than some expected pain, she'll pull through nicely. Already back on the greasy cheesy foods she couldn't eat before :D

Thanks for the concern and well wishes, BB!

I'm glad she is good. I had my gall bladder out years ago. Ruined my ability to drink on my 21st. I've since made up for it though. :D

Wait! Before doing a pull try what I said with the go back highlight option. You most likely successfully flashed the boot ani. :)
Oops! Too late, I already pulled.

Alright, perhaps I'll try this again. Thanks for all your help!

Yeah, gall bladders seem to be poppin' out all over the place! Maybe the FDA put something in the water supply that sludges 'em up so doctors can get rich off surgeries ;)

I needed mine out but I can't have it removed (long story). So I get to take an Ursodiol capsule every day for the rest of my life.

If you recognize "Urso" as Latin for "bear", you are correct. A whole long time ago, Eskimos - who ate a very high-fat diet of whale blubber and seal - had massive gall bladder problems. Eskimo medicine men determined that (I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP) polar bear urine would help. Exactly HOW they determined that is beyond my capacity to speculate... as is the ability to determine how they safely collected the stuff fresh and in quantity.

Modern science did, in fact, prove that there are compounds in polar bear urine that cause the gall bladder to work better. Scientists were able to synthesize those compounds and put them in a capsule... hence the name Ursodiol.

Anyway, after taking it for a year we ran another hida scan and found out that my gall bladder was cranking out bile at a 65% rate, vs. a 35% rate. Yayyy polar bears!

I guess it's one occasion when it's a really good idea to eat the yellow snow :p
