Root How do you change prl?

I know this is a noob question, but i cant find one place that can tell me clearly how to change the prl on our prevails. So, can anyone explain to me detailed and clearly how to do it? which prl's are best to use?

First of all you are going to need your MSL code to do this use my other thread:
http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/470294-easiest-fastest-way-get-your-msl-code.html
(This is the fastest and easiest way to get it)

And to do the rest use this thread by Ron580: (you only need to do the Switch to a Sprint prl part of the thread)
http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/460182-1984kbps-speedtest-net-results-after-couple-tweaks.html

If you need any further help or any clarification just ask.

Note. If you do this wrong you can Severely harm your device do this at your own risk. You need to have a rooted phone and cant be running on CM7 for this to work. And if you update your phone while on the custom PRL you will loose it and return to the boost one. If you ever want to get CM7 with a custom PRL just make sure you already have it before installing it. (You will not loose it by flashing a custom ROM or factory restoring it

that second one doesnt tell me how to change the prl, just how to modify somethings to get faster 3g speeds and better call quality. i see how the first one helps me, but how do you get and use cdma workshop? i think i noticed before that it's a paid program, is there a way to get it for free

edit: sorry, i saw the change prl part. but still, how do you get cdma workshop

Okay, thanks for all your help everyone. I finally learned how to change prl. I would like people to share what prl you're using and give us your general location to see which is better.

Im in the chicago land area and im using prl 11115 which gives good cell reception but 3g speeds of 200kbs
your reception is dependent on so many different things. First is there a tower close to you. No matter what prl you have if your just too far from any towers your SOL, and if your prl wont connect to a closer tower because it just cant see it a newer or sprint prl is handy. Then are there cell blockers around you, I have this problem there are dozens of tall pine trees all over my neighborhood and they interfere with reception. Then does your prl give preference to sprint phones using the same towers, that is where I like the sprint prl it barrels through without worrying about other users.
Then and there are many more these are just off the top of my head, weather and other users, someone already mentioned at times of the day the speed was faster, well if the other users are not on it opens bandwidth up but if they are congesting the bandwidth it will slow. And well weather should be self explanatory.

well I don't know where the towers are, but with full signal I still get 200Kb down. I am using a sprint prl, 11115. I'm sure there are other users at the same time, but my brother on the same prl with the transform ultra from boost gets about 1MB down. I'm gonna try a business prl and see how it goes, I think the newest is 60681 or something like that

wow i was getting horrible on 11115. the max i was getting was 200kbs down in an area where there are little signal blockers. i switched to 60681 and now im gettting a steady 600kbs down in the same area. where im testing my speeds i only have about 2-3 bars so i want to go somewhere with full signal and see how good it is now

my speed depends on if I am at home or 1/2 mile down the street :(
at home 50kbs up to 160kbs down and roughly the same up.

Get away from the trees and looking at 600-1200 down 450-890 up
And a couple miles to the west 2200 down 1800 up

I've driven all over northern NY and have had little to no success with any. I guess its the mountains. Is there an app to show the closest tower?
