Since everyone seems interested with benchmark scores lately here are the scores for hroarks CM7 3.5, CTMod 2.4 and the Stock Gingerbread 2.3.5 rom with 4 different benchmark apps

Each rom is completely as it is after just being flashed. No settings were changed other then screen timeout set to 2 minutes and Allow Unknown Sources so i could install the benchmarks

No task managers were used, whatever runs when the phone boots up was running

I installed AnTuTu Benchmark, DeviceMark(Global Quadrant), Quadrant Standard, Smartbench 2011 and Screenshot on each rom then rebooted

I ran each benchmark 2 times back to back and picked the best score. I rebooted the phone in between switching benchmark apps

AnTuTu Benchmark
Left is Stock, Right is CTMod 2.4 and bottom is CM7 3.5

Great post! And interesting results also, Mainly the difference of CM7 and the other 2 in CPU Float-point CM7 being almost 9 times faster. Its also seams repeatable the Quadrant is probably showing a good deal higher because of that mainly i would guess. Plus DeviceMark gives CPU a much higher score also again probably because of that. I could be wrong but I am curious for how CM7 is so much better at that. Really CT2.4 seams fast already and from what I understand much less issues if we could integrate that part that makes CM7 into CT could make one nice. Of course I know this is likely a very hard thing to do and not sure how much that helps with actual device speed.

if those of us running ct were to edit that line in the bp, would the rom become unstable? or any consequences?

i am not sure what would happen

my boardconfig has these settings when i complie CM7

Code:
 TARGET_NO_BOOTLOADER := true
TARGET_NO_RADIOIMAGE := true
TARGET_BOARD_PLATFORM := msm7k
TARGET_ARCH_VARIANT := armv6-vfp
TARGET_CPU_ABI := armeabi-v6l
TARGET_CPU_ABI2 := armeabi

I wonder if the CPU stuff is related to these setting in the build.prop

CM7
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v6l
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi

CTMOD/STOCK
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi

I saw that before but i never tried adding it

I'll give it a go and see if theres any difference

AnD.... what about shabby's, i know it's minimalistic and, well, "shabby", but how would it score ya think...better than stock gb?

ShabbyMod gets around 550ish in Quadrant

Just so everyone knows me and Blood are Friends, and there is no rivalry between us.

He helped with my ROM and I helped him with his,

We both had the same goal (getting rid of CIQ)

we just took different routes to do it

There really is not a lot of ROMS available for this phone

A phone like the HTC EVO 4g has so many ROMS available, it is so confusing to choose which one to use, and what you need for it

I just got 86-ed for posting some certain sound files for a certain rom. They fit under the guidelines, but not their intent, evidently. Refreshing that you are still working on this...

Just tried it and the CPU stuff said the same thing, got pretty much the same scores. I tried using the CM7 kernel with CTMod just to see if that raised anything too but scores still stayed about the same

Part of the difference might be cause CM7 is using 2.3.7...Almost like how 2.2.2 would score 500ish then 2.3.5 came out and the score went to around 1000

i expect the slow speed with the first 2 cards i tried

I am just upset that the 32 GB class 10 is so slow, i got it a long time ago and never benched it

How much stress have you put it through?
If it's not been used much at all, the wear leveling might not have settled into the structure of the card, losing time as it tests never before used space before writing to it.

If the card has been used fairly heavily, the wear leveling could be losing time skipping over bad bytes/blocks as it writes data

They should find a way to make those cards out of that stuff that never wears out. Tires too.

You know, the stuff that 50% of the population owns 100%. You can't wear it out.

SD cards are inferior technology.
