First Extended battery for Droid Razr

The web site on the link says " The 3500MAH Extended Life Motorola Droid RAZR Battery comes with a black replacement cover with that allows full access to the phone’s functionality."
*I* interpret as the battery is thicker than stock, and requires a different back. Or worse, you take off the back and leave it off, and this cover is all that holds your battery in place. There is no picture on the site, which doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy either.

I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy one of these. My phone gets through a day just fine, and I bet there is fine print somewhere that says words to the affect of "open your phone and remove the battery = void your warranty". After all, Moto says the battery is not replaceable/removable. Typically that means 'keep out'.

Cool vid, but I sure as heckfire won't be taking the Torx screwdrivers to my pristine phone. My battery is fine, especially when I lock it in 3G.

I think that guy took out 25 screws, 3 plates (including the mother board). I also do not have a case opener and a full set of torxs to attack this. There is probably a good reason why the video does not show him putting it back together.

Ive had my razr apart and the only screws you need to remove to take the battery out are the two terminal screws at the bottom, they are doing a complete disassembly for the sake of someone possibly needing to go farther like replacing the screen etc. I may look into this a little deeper specificaly how thick and rear cover. That is if thier website would actually load. :D

I would like to see a RAZR MAXX conversion kit for our phones. What I mean is the kit would come with the bigger RAZR MAXX battery and the kevlar backing of the RAZR MAXX (not some generic POS backing). So the only thing that'll change on our phones is the battery mah will go up and our phone will get a little thicker, essentially converting our RAZR's to a RAZR MAXX.

Guys, guys, relax. If you really need the upgrade, wait until about month 9 or 10, when your phone will mysteriously develop a loose headphone jack. By then, the Razr will be out of production, and they'll have to send a RazrMaXXXXXXXXX2 to you as a replacement unit. It will come with warp drive.

Two things ......

1. He never turned the phone back on.
2. This video is edited like crazy

There is no way a normal user does this successfully. If you try, God speed and good luck !

its not a big deal. i have taken the back cover off, removed the battery and put it all back together without issue. phone works fine.
