Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Try downloading the file again then. There are other available versions of cwm linked in that post:

Try one of those.

Extremely frustrating. None of them work and I can't get it to boot. Vibrates like its going to blow up and Im doing it for more than 10 seconds.....

This is crazy. Maybe a factory data reset will solve something? I don't know honestly

Well, I know all of those work right, as I have tested them all myself. There has to be something you are not quite doing right. The Doctor Who themed one I made does not need unzipped. Try that again and don't unzip it just put it in the image folder of the MOBILE drive and try it again. I have a feeling the issue is with the unzipping process.

...and it works. You are amazing Hahaha. The problem was that the file name was "recovery.img" but I changed it to just "recovery" and it finally booted.

So now I'm in the process of making a backup. After, the next step is to put tickerguys build into somewhere in the sd folder via my computer? And also the gapps right?

I think what happened is that your computer was not showing the extensions (.img, etc) and so when you named it recovery.img it was really naming it recovery.img.img and it wouldn't work. ;)

The verdict. Using my tablet now as I type this with my AP Android connection. Amazing, though took me hours to do this (noob at root) couldn't do it without you and mantera's help ! Thanks!

Now, how else do I enjoy this rooted phone. :D

I have to say...I LOVE this ROM!

I loaded it yesterday after going back to Froyo from MIUI, and, after some fighting with the battery (because I wasn't doing "calibration" properly lol) it's finally up and running better than the stock installation (Froyo)

I installed Go Launcher EX, Go SMS, 2x Battery (for monitoring and helping with the battery life), and "Battery Calibration". Then charged the battery to 100% (let it charge for an hour after it hit 100% just to make sure it was really there) and ran battery calibration.

This was the result after roughly an hour (Honeycomb Go Launcher EX theme btw) :

And about 5 hours later, the battery is at 83%, with mild use (I send texts, check gmail and facebook/facebook messenger) and turning the screen off after finishing whatever task I happen to be doing. I'd call that a massive improvement over the 2-6% drop every 10 minutes that I was getting on MIUI.

Very very happy with it!

Anyone get LGCamera working? The audio recording on the regular camcorder sounds like complete garbage and the adjustments LGCamera lets me make really helps. Whenever i record with it, it just freezes the video feed. Then when i try to review the video, it says "video cannot be played."

Anyone? Or anyone figure out how to improve the audio recording quality of the stock video recorder?

I am having the same problem as several others here where my battery is draining approximately 16% per hour not even doing very much on it.

I have been reading all over and am still having a tough time understanding whether it would be the poor radio/reception or the apps that are killing it. In my reading it feels more like the radio. Right now at home my signal is -100dB. (My old Samsung intercept is approximately -90 dB sitting right beside it).

I am willing to re-do the ROM with no other apps and give it a few days to see if it drains as quickly (ie is the radio or poor reception).

I would love to have it drain even %5 / hour.

Is it true that it is probably the radio that is killing my battery the fastest?

And a completely dumb question (at least I feel dumb). If I use juicer and set it to connect every 15 minutes... if someone tries to call me will they get through? I am still trying to understand the data etc.

That is odd. I have been averaging 2.4%-6% per hour depending on my use which varies between moderate to a few text messages every now and then.

First of all, you may want to check CM7 Reloaded, which is basically an updated version of TG's ROM (it's in the all things root section of the forums). If you continue to have this battery drain problem, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 and download/install the betterbatterystats app. What it does is, among other things, keep track of kernel wakelocks, which prevent the phone from going into deep sleep, which may be your problem. The wakelocks you want to look for are mmc0, mmc1, and mmc2. This is a known CM7 bug that some of us has experienced. Whyzor, the developer working on CM7, is aware of it and has worked on a solution. You will also want to check and make sure you have no rogue apps running in the background. I get about the same signal as you, so unless you're keeping mobile data on, I don't think that's what your problem is.

Regarding juicer, that only deals with your mobile data. You'll still get calls and texts.

If you use an app that has 3g or wifi connect every 15 minutes you will still get calls and texts as usual.

I am guessing it might be a signal issue, what is your time without signal? (Menu>settings>About phone>Battery use>Cell Standby)

Do you leave 3g or wifi on when they would be searching for a signal?

If possible, it would be very helpful if a mod could edit the OP to make this clear to new users. Either that, or sticky the other thread (if it's not already stickied)

Well, the title of the thread says [FINAL] and the last date he updated it. It is still a working ROM and all the ROMs are listed in the Root Guide. There is not really any reason to sticky the ROMs. Especially when there is more than one being worked on, we are only supposed to have a few stickies at the top at once.

I am more than happy to help people with their questions and help them find what they are looking for.

Cool beans. I just noticed this thread is more prominent than Whyzor's and just want to make sure that people are aware that Whyzor is continuing development. I remember being a newbie at this, and knowing how overwhelming all this stuff can be at first, I like to simplify things as much as possible.

Neither ROM is stickied anymore (I resolved that). The ones that get posted in the most will be more towards the top. Think of it as a Darwinian forum, lol. :p

It will all work out in the end without much meddling. I do appreciate your concern though. :)

Whyzor has done a lot of work on his version, but much of it is the exact same base code. This is much more vanilla CM7, his is a much more tweaked version. To each their own! Isn't that what we all love about Android?
