just a curiosity, was wondering how many people would like the htc edge come to sprint and possibly be called EVO2. a kickstand be a must? a 5 inch screen or larger be a must? 1080 p screen be a must? 10mp front facing camera or more be a must? NFC be a must? what would be some must's to make it an EVO2 and come to sprint? LTE is a given :)
Quad core goodness sure sounds like a good start.

To answer the general question: YESSSS!!!! I would love for the rumored specs of the HTC Edge to become the next Evo. That Kal-El SoC is something I've been drooling over for a while now. Where most people have been saying the Tegra 3 is overkill for a phone, I completely disagree, as I feel the major processing power is needed for the mobile applications and cloud access. Also the fifth "shadow chip" let's the phone do it's mundane syncing under reserved power.

To answer your other questions: I do love my kick-stand, but it's not a deal breaker as long as the other specs are up to snuff. A 1080p screen of 4.6 to 5.4 inches would be right up my alley. And I would love to have a nice RFC that rivals high-end point and shoots. The standard 1.3-2.0mp FFC is plenty for me. The NFC abilities and LTE is just icing on the cake for me as I typically use WiFi at home, and don't access my phone too much at work.

I know some seem to think that 4.3 in screen should be the max size on a phone. I watched clip about.the Galaxy Note and I am just not seeing it. I hope the HTC edge does come with atleast a 5in or bigger screen. unless this guy has gorilla hands a 5.3inch screen is looking just right to me.

I think 4.6-5in screen would be enough for me. I have found myself not using the kickstand a ton so not a deal breaker, though I feel like if it is called the EVO2 it should have it. Needs to be LTE so I can take advantage of those Advanced LTE speeds next year. Seeing the 16mp camera on the Titan 2 I think they need to at least get 12mp out of this one but I would take a smaller camera if it was instant like the Nexus.

Thinking it through, I think maybe a bump in RAM would be money well spent. 2gigs of RAM seems ideal to me for a quad core proc. 1gig of Ram is pretty standard for flagship devices. I think to stand out 2gigs is a must. I agree HTC Titan II 16mp shooter being included with "Edge" on release would be ideal. Definitely nice addition to the spec sheet in creating a worthy EVO2. Here's to hoping that 16mp shooter makes to "Edge".

well this is friggin awesome! if sprint can get either 1 of these next 2 awesome phones. I can confidently say I have finally found a worthy upgrade for my old EVO4G. Looks like we need a new device thread for HTC 2.5ghz "Zeta" quad core phone. Either the Edge or Zeta would be excellent EVO2's. Looks HTC is going to be announcing both at MWC. Read here:

5.3" phone at 5.5" would be amazing. 5" is the ideal for a small screen, IMHO. 5" and under 5.5" would be amazing.

Can't wait for MWC. Please pick it up Verizon.

The hangover of CES 2012. CNET's "Rumor Has It" is reporting from there source that HTC will do a unveil of the HTC Edge at MWC 2012. The important news is there talking about a HTC Edge market release in April. The video is long so skip to 10:00min mark to hear the story. Dang, my full upgrade at Sprint is not up untill June :p

Sprints best candidate to become a EVO 2 under goes a name change. HTC upcoming quad core phone "Edge" is now going to be called "Endeavor" Once this quad core beast hits the market, reportedly this spring it will be called "Supreme". I don't care what HTC calls it as long as when hit Sprint, It's called EVO 2 and comes with a kickstand! Read more here.

The EVO line belongs to Sprint as the Droid line applies to Verizon and since I don't think this phone will hit up Sprint it is safe to say that it being named the HTC EVO 2 is very unlikely. Plus, it wouldn't be the HTC Evo 2, it would be the the EVO 4 since the timeline is as follows: HTC EVO 4G-HTC EVO Shift 4G-HTC EVO 3D

It needs to have a Kickstand, LTE, at least 4.5" screen, mini HDMI out, notification LED, a Kickstand, flush camera lens no less than 8mp, FF camera of 5mp, and a micro SD card slot for memory expansion (preferably externally accessible).

I will not jump if it does not have a kickstand, does not have expandable memory, and does not have LTE capabilities. Those three are key for me.

It's not a real Evo unless it has a kickstand. The shift was a nice little concept, and so was the 3D, but none of them were reincarnations/evolutions of the original.
