Help Display has yellow tint (not camera pics)

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything about this specific topic. I found info on camera pics regarding this issue on the Rezound, but nothiing about the actual display.

Going from my Incredible to the Rezound, I've noticed that the overall tint of the display on the Rezound seems slightly yellow. Has anyone else noticed this? It's especially evident when I've been using my computer at work and then glance down at my Rezound, and when I have the Inc and Rez powered on and held side by side, the Rezound's display definitely has a yellowish tint.

Anyone else have this issue or do I need to return this as a manufacturer's defect? Sorry for the crappy photo perspective, but it's the only way I could keep the fluorescent lights above out of the shot. With the perspective skewed, I know it's hard to tell, but the Rezound is on the left.

Other than that issue, I'm loving the phone.

It may be a defect with your display; my phone does not have any color bias on the normal screens and the camera issue is a white balance issue not a screen issue.

One thing before taking it back, do you have any Skins that may be adding the yellow. Go to Personalize>Display>Skin and see what the setting is. Try different Skins and see if the problem goes away. If not it probably needs to be returned.

Good luck!

BTW, could it be the screen protector?

I tried all of the skins, all with the same result. The display looked like that straight out of the box and naked, no screen protector. I've actually begun to get used to it, but it's still a minor annoyance for me because I don't think it helps anyone envy my awesome phone when they see the yellowish tinted display...LOL.

After having the phone for a couple of weeks I'm not really sure I want to go through the hassle of replacing it if it's defective, as this is the only problem I've had. The camera pics turn out just fine, no yellow as some have reported. So, do I bite the bullet and return it or just live with it?

I called Amazon Wireless today. I purchased the phone a couple of days before Christmas, s I'm still within the 30 day return window for a brand new replacement. They suggested that I go to the local Verizon store and troubleshoot first before returning the phone. Amazon told me to contact them before my 30 days were up if I couldn't get it figured out woth Verizon so that I could get a new phone, not a refurb. Of course, the only drawback is that Verizon is only going to try everything that I've already done, including a factory reset. Oh well, at least I'll end up with a new Rezound and not a refurb!

you're probably right but if that's all you need to do to get a new ReZound then it's well worth it. I mean I know you are getting used to the tint but honestly the beautiful screen is one of the biggest draws of this phone. Watching HD content on it is freakin AWESOME! Now if you had a prefect working phone and wanted to return it for something like pink keys...then maybe I'd say don't bother...lol.

just fyi, when you look at the rezound from the exact angle you took in your pic, the viewing angle makes it have a yellow tint..same when you look at it from the bottom, eg.) if a phone's sitting on your desk in front of you.

therefore i can't really agree with it that it's yellow because there's not enough proof...a full top down view would def. show if it's yellow compared to the inc

mine's more of a cooler/blue hue than the inc, but thats bc my inc is amoled and it's oversaturated as hell

Oh, trust me, it's yellow at any angle. I think I'm just going to go ahead and visit Verizon to see if I can get it resolved. Actually, I kinda wish my buttons WERE pink!

on this phone.... is the QWERTY keypad yellowish too? (in the picture it looks not-quite-yellow-but-may-be-the-correct-white/gray tone(?))
bye

Yes, the keypad is the thing that is the MOST yellow. Wonder what that means? At this point it looks to me that it has something to do with whites and grays, as everything else seems acceptable. Maybe not perfect, but acceptable.

I'd get it replaced if I were you. Take it to the Verizon store, compare it to the Rezound on display and have an employee note it. Look at it this way, if the display gets progressively worse, you're going to have downloaded more media onto the phone. When you finally get around to swapping it, good luck retaining all the media you've loaded onto the phone because Verizon's going to insist doing a restore on the phone even though most people would identify your issue as a hardware issue, unless you have some jaundice type app installed.

Hm... in the pic it's the least yellow. Looks like the keypad is pretty much fine, so I was going to say maybe it's the message app you're using because it's got a gold color and the box where you enter your text def looks yellow/gold so it seems that it's on purpose.

You're right about the actual letter keys; they are the least yellow thing on the screen on the left. But all the other areas which should be gray are yellowish. This is the exact same messaging app on both phones in the pic. Exact same settings on each one. The bar at the top is supposed to be gray like the one on the right. I've contacted Amazon and I'm getting a replacement. Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Oh, and I just have to say that Amazon Wireless was SO easy to work with in getting a replacement. When I called today and told them that I'd gone through the troubleshooting with Verizon and that it didn't resolve the issue, they immediately issued a replacement and shipped it for arrival tomorrow. I didn't have to worry about sending this phone back first or anything like that. They simply shipped a brand new one and e-mailed me the return shipping authorization. Nice!
