Music Player/Swype to change songs

Is there another app that plays your music on the Droid 3 where you can swype to the next song. I use winamp and you can do that but when I put it in the windshield dock there's no swyping.

The Amazon MP3 app has a player that can play songs on your device - it's not just a player for Amazon's Cloud Drive - and it does allow you to swipe from one song to the next. I'm not sure what happens in the dock, though.

Is it using your data to play though or playing off of your phone's "hard drive"

Yes. ;)

Your choice - it can play off Amazon's cloud drive, or it can play songs stored on your device.

Good news: it's a free app. It should be easy to try and easy to uninstall if it doesn't fit the bill. (Also, despite the name, it is not limited to MP3 files. It plays my iTunes-copied AAC files just fine.)

I'm personally a fan of PowerAmp. It has a full blown EQ (why I bought it) with a dozen or so presets as well as the ability to add new presets. Also, it allows you to swipe left/right to advance or go back through the songs and swipe up/down to advance or go back through playlists.
have you had any problems with poweramp lately? after the last update every single folder and song of mine shows up twice in the folder list. It's annoying as hell and I am getting tired of it especially since I have not gotten word of a fix yet.. winamp and the regular mp3 player has no problem of that sort, but I liked poweramp because of the EQ. It's driving me crazy. Everytime I add music to my sd card it shows up twice every single time.

I built playlists and just use those. If you long hold a playlist, there's a Remove Duplicates option. I don't navigate from folders, I just added them then use the bottom Library tab to browse by playlist, but there's also albums, artists, genres, top rated (by your own starring of songs, but IDT anyone does this), and recently added IIRC.

Also, if you are into ROMs and whatnot, back up your playlists to your SD with PowerAmp. It'll add a .m3u8 extension and you'll never lose them.
