Speedtest.net scores?

using Speedtest.net app, I'm getting faster upload speeds than down load speeds,,,ie down 7.75mbs/14.94mbs up on my 4g network. the pings suc at 250-267ms..is this correct? he phone seems fast as hell and I still havent lost 4g signal after 2 days.

Just wondering:eek:

Results vary across the board. I've seen this although haven't run into it myself. Not a bad thing those speeds are great any way you look at it. I've never been convinced of that app.

I'd try different tests from a few different sites and average them once complete. dslr reports and speakeasy are 2 I use.

I live just north of Boston and actually like to use speedtest.net often "just to see" what I get. For those more familiar with the area, most of my testing is in the Lynn, Salem, Peabody, and Danvers communities. I average 18mbps down with a high of 30.53 and 6mbps up with a high of 11.89.

Excellent results you gotz da speed! welcome to AF ;)

I also play with the speedtest.net app on my phone and run tests pretty regularly. Around town (Sacramento) I have seem everything from 6 mbps down to 35 mbps down. Uploads are almost always in the 12 mbps range but do vary once in a while 1 or 2 mbps either up or down. I have even ran speedtest several times in a row while sitting in the exact same spot and have gotten drastically different results. Not sure if its the speedtest or the 4g network or a combination of both that gives me such sporadic results. Real life use though I have no complaints about the speed!

I vary anywhere from 4 to 30 down and 0 to 20 up; usually averaging around 15Mbps down and 5Mbps up maybe. ping is usually 50-70ms. I've seen a ping of around 40 once or twice.

Although real world tasks are what matter most: I've peaked around 2.5MB/s downloading files. However, I average around 1.5MB/s down (tethered). I too question how meaningful speedtest apps are...

I am on fringe 4G though and get better speeds closer to town. This is pretty much exactly 10x as fast as the 3G I am used too.

At these speeds, I don't see how it's possible to have a 2GB monthly limit, even without tethering...

This is my best result so far with full 4G ( I was really surprised :O ). I haven't seen the Upload being faster than the Download in my tests. BTW, how do you guys get the view of the results without the speedometer?

wowza! weird I see so many speedtests much better than mine, but with lower pings... I'd like to see those who get these extremely high speedtests to actually try downloading/uploading some large files to see what they really get...

If you go to 'history' I think, you'll get a list of all your tests... maybe that's what you were asking about...

Yeah, it fluctuates for me in North Jersey. That was a bout 10 minutes from my house (in the opposite direction of NYC). There's probably a strong cell site near there lol. I usually get about 15Mb/s Download.
