Sprint Galaxy Nexus With LTE and 1.5GHz CPU Pops Up in CNET Ad; Is This Their CES Announcement?

Big day for Sprint.. I've excited! what I really want/need to know though, is will these initial LTE devices Sprint roll's out support LTE on both the 1900 and 800mhz bands. Anyone with any ideas?

I read somewhere Sprint LTE will be on 1900 MHz for now, and on 800 MHz in the future.

I thought 800 was going to be for voice and 1900 for LTE.

That is true... but that is just the beginning; in a year or two, Sprint will be running LTE on both 800mhz and 1900mhz (which will be really nice).

This is going to get interesting. The top 3 phones I'm looking forward to this year is Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S III, and maybe the next EVO. My upgrade is on April. I'm going to hold out till I figure which one of these 3 suits me the best.

I am actually looking forward to the possibility of the Note. Wondering if maybe Sprint redesigned it a bit, changed the name possibly? Especially since we haven't seen any leaks. They are keeping the Note and Nexus(except for that cnet leak) pretty well wrapped up! Only a couple more days though!

Agree. My dream situation would be HTC replicating the Note with equal/better specs, maybe include ICS, and call it the EVO XL or EVO Tank.

I'd like to see another quality phone for Sprint coming from Motorola who is now owned by Google. Samsung claims "pure Google" but I don't trust Samsung after the original Galaxy S "Epic." Every phone I've ever had from Samsung has been a piece of junk that failed to meet expectations and eventually often just stopped working for no good reason.

I like HTC, don't get me wrong.

But... So far, I've had the best experience with Motorola devices. Their radios are simply the best. After all, what good is a phone if you can't get a signal? And the fact that Google owns Motorola should create a collaboration creating a true "pure Google" device.

That's my opinion and my wish. Your mileage may vary. I know that there are people who are simply gaga about their Galaxy SIIs and most likely with good reason. Unfortunately Samsung has lost me as a customer for the rest of my life. I'd even pick the "Fruit" over a Samsung. And I hate the "Fruit."

While I understand you have been burned, it's not Samsung that is making the claim of the Nexus being pure Google....it's GOOGLE saying its a pure google experience. I had the Moment, the Evo, the Epic, and now the Epic Touch. I never really ran into any issues on the Epic 4G, except for the GPS being slow. My Epic Touch on the other hand has been an amazing device.

HTC's and Motorola's offerings with Sprint have been subpar. They usually have decent specs but then the camera, the screen, or battery life ends up falling short. Camera is definitely important to me on my mobile device. Even with the Evo, the thing that turned me off completely from it was the fact that the screen only displayed 65k colors....while the Epic 4G was able to display 16Mil.

Just my two cents, Samsung always seems to impress me with what they been coming out it. Until someone else does, Sammy it will be.

Never said it was fact...but fact is Samsung products have weak radios. I'm sitting 6 feet away from my wireless router and it's only getting about half signal. I used to get full bars on my Evo and Evo3D. I get anywhere from none to half. Sometimes signal cuts out completely. GPS cuts in and out when in use. Phone reception went from having full coverage (live right by a tower) to none to half. Lose/drop calls all the time now. Never did that until I switched to the Nexus. Plus the phone speakers/ringers aren't very loud at all. If you're not paying attention you'll miss a calls all the time.

Many if not all of my complaints have followed just about every one of Samsungs mobile phones. Plus Samsung is notoriously slow to get updates out to their phones. Whether it be software patches or Google software updates.

Every company has complaints or issues. HTC still can't seem to get battery life right, My Epic Touch last 17+hours and that just happens to be when I am going to bed otherwise it would be longer. Motorola has subpar cameras and lately shotty screens.

It definitely shows when sales figures are released who makes the better product. HTC sales dropped significantly while Samsungs keeps rising and rising. I'm not saying there isn't anything that could be improved, but so far Samsung is doing it better than the others, in my opinion.

I never had complaints with either of my Evo's battery life. I could go all day and still have 40% battery life. That's internet quite often, texts and numerous calls for work. Music too.

HTC has dropped because they havent released that many phones and the majority going to Verizon. The last HTC phone Sprint got was the Evo Design 4G. When they release more on other carriers they'll bump back up.

Hell even the new Nexus has connectivity issues. Whether wifi, lte or calls dropping.

A lot of Nexus users on Sprint got free Airaves because they phone cant hold a consistent signal and the original epic had many issues.

Maybe the Epic Touch is better. In all honesty I havent looked into the phone much because of Sammy's record. Until it improves I'll stay away from them.

Samsung is more worried about pushing the latest and greatest product of theirs that they forget to update and take care of their already released products.

I would love to see a new phone announcement from both HTC and Motorola for Sprint. The last several months of 2011 were depressing, since it seemed AT&T and Verizon were both spitting out new phones every other week but Sprint got nada. The Nexus Prime coming to Sprint is a good thing as it will be the closest thing available in the States to a true "Google" phone (Google Wallet with no Verizon bloat), but I too am wary of Samsung phones after the trouble my fiancee had/has with her Epic (she hates it so much she's getting an iPhone when her upgrade hits).

If you're happy that's great. By and large it seems as if the majority of samsung owners have complaints about things. That being said nothing is said when things are smooth. Only when there's problems.

I like my Nexus. It's not a terrible phone. It has it's issues. IMO, I like HTC phones better. They feel better built and not has cheap or plasticky feeling. Sense is nice but I dont see a need for it with Android 4.0.

Im just pointing out a large number of complaints when it comes to radios on Samsung phones. It's a common issue across all models.

Yes, I'm fully aware of that. I like HTC. I still have my EVO. I'm not making this a Samsung vs HTC thing. I have no brand loyalties. I take what's best for me at the time. Right now, I'm looking to get Samsung.
