Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

For some reason with my GN every time I press on something on the screen the speaker comes on making a low hissing noise for a couple seconds and then it shuts off with a click noise. Has anyone else noticed this? It's kind of strange, I am not sure why it would do this.

There have been some reports of this. In settings>sounds there are touch screen and lock screen check boxes...uncheck them. There is a bug with the gn about the speaker time out and a hiss and click sound. I unchecked mine and it went away...but some people had it so bad they replaced their phones.

Good Morning all. At work today, not real thrilled about it. Got my shipping notification for my NFC tags, can't wait for them to come in.

Anyways a friend of mine shared this with me, those of us here will find this especially relevant ;)

anything for making the softies background transparant?

I'm sure this has been ninja'd to death, but I was looking high and low for this. There is one for 4.0.2, and I flashed the newest Revolution to give it a try and it was buggy as hell.

There are a couple of devs working on making the nav bar transparent for 4.0.3 but are running into a ton of issues for some reason.

Not ninja'd as far as I can tell

And unrelated but don't you leave for your ski trip soon

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but when you leave an app which has the three dot menu button at the bottom right up when the phone times out and locks itself (or when you turn the screen off manually), when you turn the screen back on, the three dot menu button is still there. If you have slide to unlock, touching the menu button will also unlock the phone. I checked and with more secure methods of unlocking, the menu button is still there, however touching it does nothing, so I don't think it is a security issue. But curious nonetheless.

Yep, tomorrow!! :D

I'm trying to get my phone into the best configuration possible before I leave, since I'll be super busy.

Downloading AOKP 17 now. I've got a really cool live wallpaper called "light wall" on the market you might want to check out.

I hope you have lots of fun.

I actually dislike moving wallpapers. I'm quite ocd about placement and with live ones I can't have control.

What I really want to find are the black wallpapers that were on xda (I think that's where they were) but I can't find the link.

I think someone posted them on the Gnex's theme section on rootzwiki the other day. You should look there. I'd post the link but I'm on the app and waxing my snowboard.

I was the same way for a while... but then I found Pixel Rain... its the best LWP I've ever seen.... I used to hate LWP.

I say try it out

Edit- I'm going to be doing the transparent notification and navigation bar today :)

Build 17 is the fastest smoothest AOKP yet. With Lean 1.6.1. I tried just a dalvik wipe and cache partition, but it was buggy. I recommend a full wipe if coming from earlier aokp builds. This is my honest opinion!

Did he build Nova into 17 or should I keep that zip in my 'new flash' folder?

Nova is in 17 along side the stock launcher as well so you have a choice :)

It will prompt you which you want to use upon initial setup. You can change that later if you decide you want to try the other launcher as well.
