Hi all,

I was attempting to root my Galaxy Nexus (Android noob here) and have ended up with a screen that appears to be a phone, 2 dots, a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle, another 2 dots and then a computer screen (see attached).

Any advice/assistance on how to get it working again would be much appreciated.

- Anthony

Anthony, welcome to the AndroidForums and sorry its under these circumstances for your first post.

I haven't seen or heard of that screen before...

Can you boot try booting it into recovery mode by pressing and holding both the volume-up and volume-down keys at the same time and then pressing and holding the power button until you (hopefully) see the fastboot screen which should look similar to this:

nexus-bootloader1.jpg

If you can see this screen, you'll have some options at that point (i.e., if you are rooted, you'll be able to boot or flash back into ClockworkMod custom recovery and restore a Nandroid backup or if unrooted, boot or flash the factory/stock images, etc.).

Let us know.

Hi Scary Alien, thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I am unable to to turn it on in either recovery mode or download mode.

What initially happened after the root that it would be stuck on the google opening screen, so I attempted to restore it back to stock...then I got this.

The fact I cannot move from that screen is worrying...

Anthony,

Sorry for the delayed reply...I was away from the computer for a while.

Not sure what's going on there...never seen that screen before, but I wonder if you had a bad bootloader flash...

I'm guessing you tried battery pulls, other key combinations, etc. to try to access the fastboot/bootloader mode, etc.

I would think you'll need to return it to the store to see if they'll replace it...not sure what else to suggest...

No problem at all - thanks for replying.

I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. I did call Samsung directly and they have advised that when that screen appears, the only way to rectify it is to take it into a service centre and re-install the OS...I think I managed to screw up my Nexus more than anyone else on the internet!

Thanks for your help and quick responses.
