what will 2.1 bring?

i really like my eris, but i'm beginning to get really annoyed with my lagging text messages. i've tried the stock, handcent and chomp and they all lag. plus, my unlock screen always freezes, and i have to pull the battery out because i can't press the end button to shut it down.
i'm still in my 30 day window at verizon and thinking of switching to a blackberry, but with talk of 2.1 coming out within the next week, i feel i should wait to see if that corrects my problems.

does anyone know what 2.1 is going to bring/update?

It would be nice to have a clear list of all that the OTA is to bring to our devices.

Never gonna happen before we actually start seeing the update come around to users, I'll bet.

First and foremost, it sounds like you may have a bad phone. I would reccomend taking it back to verizon for an exchange. Second, as far as laggyness and other issues with the keyboard and phone dial pad, i havent seen anyone use that stuff in any of the videos of 2.1 on the eris so i dont think anyone really knows if that will be fixed yet. 2.1 will bring the new version of sense, which you can see in any of the videos. It will also bring the avaliability of new apps that were not avaliable for 1.5. Nav is a known one. Voice-to-text should be another. Ummm, other than that not really too sure.

i agree with arock...it sounds like you have a bad phone...ive never had any of the issues you are having....take it back before your 30 days are up and see if you have better luck with a different phone...then go from their...i came from a bb pearl and my eris works great so i personally would not go back to bb but thats just me...hope this HELPS!!!!
