Help Galaxy Nexus is completely dead (won't boot into any mode)

I have a similar problem.
I got the Galaxy nexus last week. Its been hooked up to the wall charger for about 36 hrs. It is totally dead and I can't turn it on (I had canceled the long distance on my land line and now missed a work-conference call because of this).

I removed the battery and put it back in after about 20 min, tried hooking it up to my laptop via USB..but absolutely nothing. It is just dead. Any further thoughts would be appreciated.

My nexus is exhibiting the same problem. I've never attempted to root it or modify the software in any way, and it just decided to die. Every once in a while I get the "Omap4440" entry to pop in and out of the device manager for about a minute (both with and without the battery in), then it goes away for a couple minutes before restarting.

Sorry, you're right this discussion doesn't seem to belong under the rooting category. Maybe someone could move it under a topic like battery/charging problems (sorry new here and don't know how or if I can do it).

I just came upon this topic by doing a google search on my dead phone issue (I suspect the others did too) and didn't realize how it was categorized.

Regarding bringing the phone back--I tried that. However after being disconnected from the charger overnight, it was alive (barely) the next morning and took the charge. I brought it in and the battery tested fine. They said they would need to try a factory reset before replacing the phone. I decided to try it again rather than lose all my settings etc. So I think this issue is a real one, just not categorized correctly.

Excellent suggestion, artica0200!

You and fellow Moderator, Xyro, had the same idea...so, I've split off your's and pc00's post here to your own thread.

Let me know if you want a different title, I'll be happy to update it.

Cheers and I hope your posts help other folks, too.

edit: and credit to bjanow for suggesting a move here, too.

It's real for sure. Great post.
