Hello can anyone help me? I have two questions, 1st one I took my phone into Verizon to get a case and screen protectors. As she was looking at my phone she noticed that I have Lookout downloaded and she said that I need to uninstall that app ASAP or I will have problems down the road with my phone. I had Lookout on my Droid X and did not have any problems. She said that the androids already have virus protection. Can anyone tell me if they know whether or not Lookout will cause problems with the android system. 2nd question is I installed 3D flip clock and the 3rd package and when I open it it takes me to a page that tells me how to install the widget. I cannot open the widget to install it. How do I get to the widgets? PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you,
Jackie
OK I am having a problem with autosync, and it seems like some others have it as well, but I've not seen it mentioned in this thread.
It seems like auto syncing just doesn't work for me at all. I thought at first that light flow was broken, then I realized that light flow couldn't be giving me notifications because my phone didn't even realize I had new emails. I manually synced >30 minutes ago and it still hasn't autosynced since then. I don't know the normal frequency of syncing, but I assume it should be faster than that. I even restarted the phone and it didn't sync after it started back up.
FWIW I am rooted, and sadly I didn't really notice if it was syncing properly before I did it. I did get a few notifications, but I don't know how frequently it was going because I don't get all that many texts/emails.
Another potential problem is that I have a lot of apps that I'm afraid might be interfering, so I'm gonna test what happens if I uninstall them. Light Flow and Juice Defender are at the top of my list...
Anyone else having problems with auto sync?
I was having this problem as well. Whenever I locked my phone and unlocked it, my signal bars would be grey. Data would work fine, but Gmail wouldn't recieve emails until my phone was unlocked and bars turned blue.
I disabled Juice Defender and that seemed to solve the issue for me. Just registered to share that
I see that nobody complains about a basic function for a phone not a smartphone. My Galaxy Nexus vibrating level is very low. When is in vibrate mode only and somebody is calling me and i have my phone in the pocket there is no chance to feel it. In fact if my phone is on the table on vibrate mode and somebody is calling you can't hear nothing at all. I can feel the phone in vibrate mode only in my hand but very low.... It is only my phone like this ?
A couple minor issues I have seen in the month I have had it:
Double text messages, happens quite frequently.
When on an app with the three dot menu button at the bottom right, if phone locks, upon turning the screen back on, the menu button is still visible, and with slide to unlock, the menu button will also unlock the phone. (Doesn't occur on more secure locking methods, so I don't consider this a security issue).
3G to 4G handoff isn't perfect, Occasionally will get stuck on 3G in areas I know has 4G, and I have to toggle airplane mode to get 4G to come back.
I just received my G-Nex yesterday.
When I tried to download 'My Apps' from Market, I got an error message "Cannot download due to an error". It happens every time regardless of the App I'm tried to download.
I then hit the back button and the download progress bar is there as if downloading the requested app. But it just stays there in progress forever and the "stop" button is ineffective, i.e. it does nothing.
Today Market doesn't even load. But none of these issues occur with other android phones.
This issue occurs regardless of location, signal strength or any other possibilities. Reboot does not fix. Problem resumes with exact same display of 'downloading' apps after clearing cache and Force closing.
Anyone help?
Does anyone have an issue with the camera under the following conditions:
Open camera app and be in portrait mode for stills.
Take some pics in portait mode.
Switch to landscape mode and take some pics.
Hit your home button
Run some other app, wordfeud or moboplayer as an example
Turn off the screen.
Turn the screen back on.
Try to open the camera app.
For me, often it shows a locked view as if it tried to open in landscape mode and didn't know how to flip back to portrait. You try to hit "home" and it won't go as if the camera app has stopped working.
Eventually I get a message that it can't connect to the camera.
Only solution is to reboot and then go back in, which is time consuming and annoying when you are trying to snap a quick photo.

Experienced this today, found the following Android bug. Issue 23776 - android - Galaxy Nexus: Cannot connect to camera - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
The only work-around I've found is to use Tasker. I set up an event that turns down the ringer/notification volume whenever headphones are plugged in. And it reverts the sound back to normal when the headphones are removed. Next, I added events for incoming call, text message, and email to play sounds through the media stream (the media stream seems to behave correctly when headphones are plugged in - only playing sound through the headphones).
