Fresh 1.1, Gumbo Kernal, with SetCPU 528/160.

Phone did AMAZING all day today. Unplugged at 7:30am, got hom at 6pm, 48 percent battery life left. Loved it. Between 6 and 6:40pm phone competely dies. I checked it at 6:30 17% battery life, wtf? Phone was really hot also. got home from the quick trip I took, phone completely dead.

What do you guys think?
CPU Usage since last unplugged (via spare parts)

Android system 65%
HTC Sense 20% Android.process.acore 10%
Rest is various. WTH happened?

What apps have you installed recently. It sounds like you had something running that didn't close properly. For those that don't know, using the back button will exit you out of an app, while pressing home takes you back to the home screen. Try and get in the habit of using the back button if you are not.

My mistake, didn't see that originally. I would say look at the apps you recently installed. Sometimes there are apps that can cause you problems. Go back and look at your most recent ones, and start removing them one by one until the problem goes away. Also, as above, try to use the back key to exit and see if that helps.

13 hours after taken off the charge, 50% battery life left. I had MINIMAL usage of my phone today, a few text's, couple of calls, and 20ish or so minutes on Facebook. Tomorrow I will listen to slacker radio off and on, and report then. I will be happy if at the same time tomorrow, I see 25% battery life. We shall see.

Have you removed any of the apps you recently installed? I know it can be a pain to do, but start with apps that you've added when you started noticing the issue, and remove them one by one and see if it gets better.

Also, again, make sure you use the back key to exit apps, don't use the home button.

If using setCPU, I recommend using on demand with 528/245 (I believe it is 245, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't have my phone in front of me when typing this).

For it to drop like that in such a little time, something makes me suspicious. Are you turning wifi off when not using it? Are you running location and/or gps? Turn off location if possible, and just turn on gps when you need it.

Just some things to try.

Out of curiosity, are you in an area that you normally get coverage? Keep in mind that if you don't have coverage, your phone will continue to look for it, which will drain the battery.

I do have coverage. In the same area when my battery one day, will last for 36 hours, and the next for 12. And it usually happens at the end of the day, when that lightning fast drainage occurs. I see it at 50% one minute, 30 minutes later its at 15%. I understand apps, and things might drain the battery, BUT AFAIK, nothing is running, I checked, re-checked, and checked agian and nothing is open. But yet, my batter drains 40% in 45 minutes? No freaking way.

Do you have a lot of widgets running or anything? Have you tried doing the steps in here:

http://androidforums.com/sprint-htc...hero-battery-life-thread-tips-discussion.html

How often are you using the phone now, and what are you doing with it? Are you checking e-mail, and if so, how often?

Yeah, have read through that thread, have all things turned off, execept mobile network. My e-mail refreshes every 30 minutes, to my knowlege, I dont run any widgts, got rid of the clock all together, weather, etc. Which I really liked that widget but I also like have a phone that is not on a charger all the time.

I check my e-mail daily, got too, hence why I got a data phone.

See, that thread, its great. It really is. However, I freaking bought this phone to have all these features, NOT to turn off every darn thing. Upsetting, it really is. I think I might just buy a bigger battery or something, blah.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have been doing good on battery life with decent usage. I have not experienced any massive drops like you have. Did you consider buying that $10 battery linked in the forums? I just purchased mine, will let ya know how it goes when it arrives. Everyone so far has liked it.
