My wife has a Nokia e71 with them and uses data all the time and has had it for about 2 yrs now with no issues. I use my Precedent on a regular basis as well. Browse web, youtube, etc, no problems so far. I would also be interested on your data usage habits as well. You must really be killing it to get flagged like that, but then again they do say unlimited.

There service does say unlimited data, but if you read the fine print it boils down to unlimited browsing basically. I think they even say you can't stream video unlimited. I have rooted and tethered my precedent for a month or more now, and have had no issues, but technically they could shut off anyone's service if they use the data for anything heavier than browsing.
(Keep that in mind if you plan on using the phone to download a lot of large files... which would be kinda useless anyways since the speed really isn't good enough for heavy downloading.)

I've had mine rooted and tethered for about 3 months now .i also wifi tether it...i use about 50mb a day and have had no calls or issues with them.I did a little research last night about this and it seems that people get called and warned at 2-5gig a month, and it seemed random.this is my first droid and i'm very happy with it and its a pretty good phone once you get gingerbread in it.At $45 a month it saves me about $60 a month so i'm not going to complain to much if there's actually a cap on data.but, with that said it is total bull they would promote it as unlimited and then cap it.

If you get a call from 18009891506 its FAKE!!! ITS NOT STRAIGHT TALK!!!! My cf has got these calls from this # who claim to be straight talk.... they are not.. call straightt talk directly and report this to them ASAP. We have verified thru straight talk that this "company" is NOT an affiliate. They can NOT shut your phone down. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!! PLEASE HEAD THIS WARNING!!!

I'm getting the same call. Funny thing is I don't have straight talk. It has to be fake.

I am searching and searching, can someone please point me in the right direction as to how to "root" my phone if needed, or how to get FoxFi to work on ST. I downloaded the app when I had verizon and used it for 2 yrs (when it was pda.net and one when it went to foxfi) I never had to do anything other than download it and start it up. I loved it. I have switched to ST in hopes of saving money, and purchased the precedent because it said on FoxFi's website that it was supported. I contacted them but it has been a week with no response. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
