Who is tempted to get RAZR Maxx?

I hate having to constantly monitor my battery usage even with the extended battery. I hate watching my battery meter dropping from 100% to 80% with less than an hour of browsing in the morning. I hate having to decrease the screen brightness level and not enjoy this beautiful screen as it is meant to be. I have to remind myself everyday to carry my backup battery. My phone died before the end of the day at least 5 times this month.
This is why this phone is so tempting. Everything else (blur, gingerbread, nfc) pales in comparison.

Considering you'll easily get more usage out of your extended and standard battery combined and the Galaxy Nexus itself is far superior than the RAZR MAXX (at least until the latter gets ICS), is it really worth settling just to not have to carry around the extra battery? I don't see why this is such an issue.

In any event, 1) the battery life on the RAZR MAXX may not be all it's cracked up to be; time will tell, and 2) the Galaxy Nexus battery really isn't all that bad. I can use the phone (i.e., screen on) for over an hour on wifi and it only dips 10-15% battery life. Not sure that's really complaint worthy.

is that non removable battery? i hate to get any phone with non removable batteries..performance of battery goes down after a year or so.. that was main issue with iphone i had before.

Yeah its non removable. They should have just made it removable since they said the reason it was non removable in the original was to keep the thickness down. Well this one's thicker and I like removable batteries.

I'm with ya Mann... and this is coming from someone who pretty much really likes the Galaxy Nexus...

There are a couple of key points...

Battery- woaa... If that thing can get me from say 9am-10pm with fairly heavy use...I will be super impressed and sold!

Build and Construction- Hands down Moto is superior, there is no arguing this at all, some will try, but its a losing battle! Steel, Kevlar, Gorilla Glass...Come on, that's like a heavyweight fighting a lightweight...

Speed- Its been stated in a few threads, and sites that the Razr is just overall faster then the Galaxy Nexus...I've owned both, both are pretty fast, however the Razr was quicker and had zero, and I mean zero lag whatsoever!

Phone call Quality- both the Razr and the Nexus are very good as phones...IMO my Nexus is the loudest phone I've ever owned! And the Razr was a close second...So to me this is kind of a draw...

Now those are some pros...

Software wise the Nexus wins hands down at the moment...there is no Comparing ICS to Gingerbread...not one bit! I'd take ICS every time...

However, GB on the Razr was very good! And didn't feel klunky or overdone at all. Very good if you ask me...And let's not forget that the Razr and Maxx will receive ICS in the coming months...

Screen wise the Nexus wins IMO...you cant compare a 720p screen to one that isn't...especially if both are Super Amoled. Yes the Razrs screen is very nice and vibrant and has punchy colors...But the clarity on the Nexus is pretty awesome. I'd prefer the 720 screen, but to get the pros I've brought up above...I'm sure I would be able to live with the Razrs.

Well that's my feelings for now...Honestly in the coming weeks a lot of phones are going to be announced, so even if I get the Maxx, it may not be in my hands for very long.

Samsung and HTC better come back with devices that have larger batteries while retaining the thinness. If they don't , Motorola will run away with the Android crown. I believe that battery life is a key feature in the minds of the average user.
What Motorola has done with the Maxx is frankly revolutionary. Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of people giving them much credit.

Can't say I haven't contemplated it. I've been having LTE radio issues on my Nexus and I have several times thought about returning it for a Rezound or Razr. But after almost a month of having my Nexus, I could never go back to a non-stock Android. I could never bring myself to go from ICS to a Sense or Motoblurred version of GB. And as far as the Maxx goes, I think its great but I also couldn't bring myself to buy an Android phone without a removable battery.

A bigger battery for HTC would be 1800 MaH.

Moto gets zero credit! However we are in Galaxy Nexus Forum...so its expected to hear a lot of people say they have no desire to switch.

I happen to agree with the fact that Samsung needs to focus on Battery life...At one point it was one of they're major strengths...My Fascinate and Charge had some of the best battery life. My Nexus, ehhh...Let's just say its not in contention to steal that Battery life crown.

I get better battery life out of my standard VZW SGN battery than I ever got out of my charge. And my charge would do popping on calls all day long, so I really couldn't use it as a phone. Known problem, maybe the fixed it, maybe not on the charge.

MAXX is a curious device! More battery, less phone, gotta love that!

At this point, the main reason for the bad battery life in the gnex as well as a lot of other new phones is the lte. With the extended battery, the battery life on my gnex is more than satisfactory. Your phone's battery life shouldn't require you to have to plan my life around the battery.

If you're having trouble with battery life, get either a car charger and charge on your way to and from work/class, or get a second wall/usb charger and charge it a bit while you're at work/in class. I can understand that maybe some people can't do this. Maybe you take the train to work and don't work somewhere where you can easily/safely plug your phone in. If that's the case, then still try disabling 4g and if that doesn't save enough battery power, go ahead and get the razr maxx.

With 4g disabled and the extended battery, I can't imagine you having battery problems. LTE is brand new and so IMO the lack of great battery life in combination with LTE shouldn't be a deal breaker, even if only for the fact that there is NO phone that has LTE with great battery life....yet.
