Personally, I've not really had any major issues with the battery, for two and a half reasons: One, I'm not in an LTE area, and I've been on WiFi a bit when able. (I live on a fringe area and my home WiFi is faster + better battery life). And Two, I'm never THAT far away from a charger. To be honest, I don't know too many people who are so far out of reach of a charger for 10+ hours.
But my own personal reasons for not switching to either the RAZR or MAXX, are a few in number. First and foremost: I don't like how it fits in my hand. Even though the Nexus is slightly thicker, it has more contour around the sides to the back, so when it fits in my hand, it doesn't feel (ugh..horrible pun again..) edgy or sharp-ish to hold. Even though I don't use my phone for calls too often without using my BT, it's in my hand the rest of the time when I use it. For me, that would get uncomfortable quickly. My hands are different than your hands tho, so..
Also, the non-removable battery. I don't care if the Maxx CAN go twice as long. I don't need it to, but more importantly, what happens if/when the battery goes bad, or gets worn out? Sure, many people will tough it til their upgrade and get out into more latest-and-greatest, but what about other people who do want to hold on longer? Or that give the phone to a friend, or want to sell it after their done? The second-hand market is going to be very leery of a phone that they can't easily change the battery on.
Never was a fan of Moto's software and whatnot. It isn't to say that I don't think they make good phones, because I think for the most part, they've been solid. We also have a Droid 3 (gf carries that). But I don't know, it's one of those ones that I can't put my finger on, but it just doesn't work for me. And I'm not a rooting person, so for me, that eliminates that. I like my phones stock, and with that, the GNex has been everything I could ask for (miss my Tbolt kickstand tho..).
