Help Mulitfolder sync for email...

Is there a way to add multiple folders to sync and show in a single view on the stock email client? I have an exchange server and I filter at the server level. Previously I was using moxier on my evo to do this but the calendar doesn't work properly. So if I have to use two apps I might as well use the stock ones if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure I completely understood what you're trying to accomplish, which is part of the reason I didn't respond.

I know for sure you can have multiple folders sync (open email app>Menu>EmailSettings>EmailDelivery>FolderSync>ChooseAccount, if multiple accounts sync'd>Change Folder Sync based on need), but I don't know if you can have the multiple folders showing on the screen at one time. You'd actually have to click on the folder you want to view, in order to see the emails. Sadly, if there is a way, I haven't figured out a way to have those folders also be included with "notifications."

Hope this helps a little. Again, I wasn't completely clear on what exactly you were trying to accomplish, but answered based on an assumption, so forgive me if my answer was completely off or nowhere near what you were looking for.

I think you understand. I know it can sync all the sub folders of the inbox. The only issue is it does not show them in any kind of a "unified" inbox and does not show you if there is mail in any folders unless you have it selected to display. Does anyone know if there is a way to display all sync'd folders in a unified display?

I see what you're saying now. Unfortunately, I don't know if there's a way to do it and actually, it's something that I'd like to know as well. There are several sub-folders that are extermely important for me to see and be notified if emails come in, but the only time I get notifications is when the emails go directly to the primary inbox.

Hmmm...that's the first I've heard of it. My gmail push notification has been working fine.

Strange thing is,I just sent myself a Gmail from my phone & it came in immediately, but, right before that,I had to manually refresh my Inbox to find out that I had 8 G-MAILS in my Inbox, all sent to my inbox today, but,no notification that they had arrived.

I could possibly be missing something obvious to cause this.Could someone share the settings necessary to ensure automatic push notifications for the GMAIL app to work properly.

I know this may sound silly, but,it's a necessary step in the troubleshooting of any phone problem,no matter how insignificant or simple the action may seem, gotta start from point 'A' before proceeding any further.

THX!

One thing I'd double check is if you have your inbox set for Priority or regular mail, in the gmail app. That's the only explanation I can come up with on why you're not getting all your mail right away.

THX for the input! :)

I did check that last night, along w/every other setting,line-by-line,w/an A/F member last night via phone call.

I've narrowed it down (sorta) to a few possibilities:

1) G-mail bug

2) PHOTON bug

3) SPRINT bug

I'm leaning to #2,as I also cannot access the DATA SAVER options in the general phone settings section.Every time that I try to select it,the screen just gives a quick flash of the options, but, the page closes before I can actually access it.
I never selected any of the options in the DATA SAVER section previously, just looked around(no need to limit data w/SPRINT,so why bother, right?!?).

Maybe this is part of the SOAK TEST that's taking place now, but,I'm hoping for more(100% LAPDOCK 500 compatibility &/or ICS).

But,back to topic,I've read some comments in the MARKET on the G-MAIL app a while back where people were having issues w/sync & push notifications.

I'm OK w/the status quo for now, I'll report back to this thread when I find a solution, whether it be an update from MOTOROLA, SPRINT,GOOGLE,or, if I'm reeeeeeeaaly bored one day,I'll try a factory reset & see if that doesn't do the trick.

Again, thanks for taking the time to look into this,Drexappeal! :)

No prob., KOLIO. Sorry that wasn't the solution. If I come up with anything else that might becausing it, I'll let you know for sure.

I resorted to a factory reset, all is well w/G-MAIL once again.
Still don't know the cause of the INBOX notifications not syncing automatically, but,it works now.

EDIT:A BTW regarding factory reset:

If you have both boxes checked in SETTINGS>PRIVACY,most things will restore after reset, including bookmarks & WI-FI settings.

The MARKET,not so much.Your best bet is using an app that has the capability to send a list to your email account,or,utilize the desktop version of the MARKET.

Another added benefit:
After about an hour of run time,4G finally settled in & has an even stronger signal than ever.
Now that i've learned to what extent the GOOGLE backup works,I'll be performing a factory reset on a regular basis, especially if 4G connect starts to degrade.
