Security password

Hi, I am new here & new to smart phones.
I am a father of four and I need help.
Is there anyway to get past a security password not pattern but words & numders?
My oldest daughter is starting to worry me and if I do a hard reset she will obviously know I am checking up on her.

With 12 hour shifts and my wife working 5-6 days a week it is hard to keep up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated by the wife and I.

Who's the boss, you or your daughter? Who pays the bill? Either she gives you access or she pays for her own phone. Or else just reset. If it was my daughter who was worrying me I wouldn't put up with it. Man up! ;-)

The problem is I want to know what is going on.
If I can get access to it I can put on a monitoring device with gps and it would take alot of stress off the wife and I.
Trust me with my past I am a scary dude & I tried the "I am the boss fear tactics" and it made it worse.
Not to mention all kids will do once they find out is find other ways to hide it but if they don't know I know then there is nothing to counter.
