hey guys, i've got a problem.
for the first time i was connecting at home, i turned on wifi,i went to wifi settings, clicked on the wifi i wanted to use, inputed the password an it connected. so far ok. but when turn the wifi off and the later on as i wanna reconnect,it doesnt automatically reconnect and i have to chose wifi again and worse i have to *input the password* again.. is that normal? a friend who hase same xperia pro as i do said the his remembers it well..
any suggestions? thx replies.

If possible can you try to connect to a different password-protected Wi-Fi network just to confirm if this is related with your home network or if is in general related to the Wi-Fi settings on the phone.

yes, i think i can confirm this is not related to my home network, i tried it on WPA network, and it was the same. (at least if my memory is correct, bcs i was there a short period of time some weeks ago..)

do you have some ideas what to do in both options (related to phone settings/related to me wifi)?

thanks alot for answering.

ok, thx a lot for answers. i'll try when i get to some other secured network, if it behaves the same.

btw, what will be the solution, if it works well on other networks? i can't imagine, what problem with network might cause this behaviour.

If it works well with other networks if might be some compatibility issues with your Home Wi-Fi (or router), if so you could try to update your router by going to the manufacturer website.

It's not related to his home network. I'm having the same issue and this is the first phone I've ever had this issue with.

If it's an issue with the phone settings, it's the default settings that are the issue.

so..i found out that it doesnt work even on my home network.. if i dont turn off wifi and only disconnect, then it remembers the key.. if i turn the wifi off though, it doesnt remember the key and i have to enter it again.

so i have to repair the phone? :/

No, there is nothing to "repair". The advice being given is nonsense. This is the problem when people who don't know what they are talking about try to be 'helpful', when they should just keep quiet.

There might be some app that can assist with the wifi password storage, even after shutting down wifi, but baring that I think it's just another flaw that has to be suffered through. Of course keeping the wi fi on all the time uses unnecessary battery life when it's not needed.

This is what is called troubleshooting, you ask questions and make suggestions based on past experience. I understand you might be frustrated since you are having the same issue but that doesn't take away the fact that I've seen this issue before and in many cases a solution has been obtained by simply asking questions.

And even if you manage to find an app to store the password this is a step that shouldn't even be done by the user since obviously there is a fault on the phone that needs to be repaired.
