I'm wiping cache, dalvik, and formatting /system just like the install instructions say. I'm manually installing it with CWM.

You left something out in your post or your wipe.... did you wipe data/factory reset?

Are you also flashing gapps as well right after the rom flash?

I didn't factory reset. I also didn't flash gapps because I'm using the milestone2 version.

If you'll reread the op it states you must do a complete wipe when coming from any milestone releases. No worries you'll be up and running soon knowing that now

So............ I drive in and out of 3 & 4G areas and need to use my old wrinkled eyes to see the G mode I'm in at a Glance. I dunno who designed the that ridiculously tiny 3 & 4G icon at Android but he must be an 18 year old with 19/19 vision.

I made a fantasy battery bar below from a screen shot in Photoshop.

My point for posting is in hopes of a developer seeing this need for a senior citizens battery bar! EH?

Kill the G and make the 3 or 4 bigger? Anything? Put the time in bold?
Hell, make the signal bars different colors for G modes?

I love the larger digi battery % readout. One step forward.

Keep in mind a phone mounted on the dash and going 70-MPH and the need to be able to read it at a glance.

Even a whipper - Snapper would be doing good to do this and still drive safely?

Mines has never been slow never experienced anything like that. I've never timed it though.



You can turn it off it's built into AOKP#21. Settings> rom control> general UI > check "disable boot animation"

I have heard of removing the boot animation through root explorer or similar, but not a mod to do that for you. Doesn't surprise me though

Doesn't that just take away the unicorn and put back stock? I didn't think it took a boot animation away completely

Aha! I just tried it to see. Before 21 iirc it completely took boot ani away. In 21 it just uses an animation with the word "Android" with animated highlights. Interesting! It did feel like the boot time was a touch faster with el pinky uni disabled

Okay gapi I got some time to play with this. What exactly do you want? Just like that "dream bar" you posted? Colors? You want the same ICS blue digi numbers for battery right?

Well, Put your self behind the wheel and wanting to glance down and tell if it is in 3 or 4 G. Not like you have the phone in your hand on the couch.

I like the example I posted especially if the 3 and 4 are different colors. Who needs the G? Or even if the signal bars colors were coded for each freq. Anything but the stock Tiny 3g in place now.

And bolding the time font would be nice but not as urgent as trying to see if my 4G is on or not..

I drive in Atlanta traffic and have my device dash mounted so there is no holding it up to my face if you know what I mean.

Dirty wipe is your call. Can't say that I will do it or recommend it, but, it has worked for you and that's pretty awesome! That's all I got for you...sorry I can't be more helpful:-\

lol will do I like that name!

idk what just happened, but my PC was down for 30 minutes. I dnld'd a battery mod from zaphod and my computer crashed and wouldn't come back in safe mode as well. Ran a scan and sure enough it would lock up every time it go to a particular folder. Deleted that and now all seems well.

OK back to trying out my hand with 7zip and modifying the 4G/3G images for you.

Gapi when you see this PM me with your thoughts if you'd like to. Since this .png lies next to the signal bars this is as big as the "3g & 4g" can get. Or I could do the original roboto 3g and 4g icons, but change their color so you could quick glance to see the color. I'm not good at this just thought I'd try it for you.

So for the inverted gapps mod do you have to flash it right after the rom just like you would a regular gapps package? Or do you flash the inverted gapps mod only after you've flashed the regular provided gapps?


Also as I understand it after flashing inverted gapps you have to go back and flash gtalk2 and calendar2 separately?
