Hi, everyone here!

First of all, I have unrooted phone, Samsung Epic 4G, I paid JuiceDefender Ultimate, and now I'm really disappointed with this! Because, battery seem NOT improve at all, since eating battery like originial issue for all Android Phones, this morning I got 3 hours and 30 mins gone out in battery even I have JuiceDefender running on...I don't even understand it!? EDIT: My Android system is running 54% That's too high and how can I reduce it? Second, my JuiceDefender is running at 42% that's pretty high too! Can anyone help me to reduce two of these!? Please help, Ill appericate it lot! Thanks! :)

I have never used JuiceDefender or any other "battery saver". The Android o/s is designed to conserve your battery as best as possible. But there is an entire Internet war going on over the merits of Android "battery savers", so I will not go into that.

What you need to do is take a good inventory of what apps you have installed, find out when they are running, then determine whether they are worth the battery drain. A lot of "free" apps run in the background, polling the Internet for new ads. Even when you restart your phone and you never even turned the app on.

A good example is an app called GPS Status & Toolbox. This is an excellent free app, but it runs an ad service that will drain your battery. If you have this app, then you need to question whether you really need the app or can you get by with an app that isn't as good but doesn't run an ad service. A good alternative I have found is an app called "Compass".

When you go to install an app and the permission requests full Internet access, then you have to question why it would need that. Take a look at the user ratings and comments to see if other people have complained about ads and battery drain. After you go thru this with all your apps, then you may find that you get better battery life.

One app I always install is Auto WiFi Toggle, which seems to have a better WiFi detection algorithm than the built-in service. When you are out of WiFi range, the phone will use a lot of battery trying to connect to a WiFi that isn't there. If you have no WiFi at all, that might be a part of your problem, too.

For whatever it's worth, I am on the latest version Gingerbread.EL30 and I usually get about 24 hrs of battery when on WiFi.

I posted in a thread quite a while back on how I have my Ultimate Juice Defender configured and I still use it without any issues. Best record is 65 Hours with WiFi on, Sync on and data disabled. Juice can also turn off and on WiFi and gets to know areas you go to with WiFi like the program that is being mentioned above.

Enabling the interactive mode in the Triggers area will help set up your apps to work along with Juice too.

But if stop it would cause app which I stop to fail? Android System is at 88%, Cell Standby 4%, Wi-Fi 4%, Display 3%, Phone Idle 2%, How can I stop Android system from 88% down to like 2%?

Actually, when the percentage of the Android System is high, that means it isn't wasting CPU cycles doing something else. So that's a good thing.

No, all the recommendations I gave you do not have to be rooted. I was rooted on my 1st Epic (mainly so I could use the wireless tethering), but I found that I hardly ever used it. So on my current phone I have not done that.

Really? Learn something new....I see.....I don't know how to get rooted or I don't know how to get in rom in my fone not even at all..I'm new (newbie) at Android...lol

Should I stop DRMContent service? It would cause problem? I heard that would help to save some battery?

You don't need to be rooted to get good performance. If you want to load ROMs and all that, you will need to be rooted.

No, do not stop DRMContent, it is required for the operating system.

I don't know how to get rooted or I don't know how to get in rom in my fone ...

Take a look in the Epic 4G - All Things Root - Android Forums section. There is extensive documentation on how to root your phone and you can post your questions there. Although I probably won't respond to any rooting questions, I will say that you should make sure you understand everything about what they are saying or else you could ruin your phone.

OK, no prob. We would also be interested to hear if you ever get your battery issues resolved. Other people are reporting similar problems and it would be good of you to share your results.

I kinda got my battery resolved at some point, but I think what are causing to eat up battery from Android System, now im running at high 82% of the Android System now...I got another things running too, Display 3%, Wi-Fi, 2%, Android System 82%, Cell Standby 9%, Phone Idle 2 to 3%. That's too over 100 precentage, now my epic is showing running at most time 102-103% for all things that running

I used to use JD with pretty good results. I have a mega battery and it has helped. But then I also got powermax to turn off things totally until i want it and the phone and messaging works fine when on. When you need wireless you turn it on and your updated then off and its really off. My battery was on all day yesterday and did not charge it it had 69% today and went all day. Nice solution. I hope this helps others.

I did stop DRM when I was in froyo but not GB as this seemed to be improved. Green means force enabled app for JD that means you are overriding the JD tendency to turn things off. Do consider powermax in that it really increased batt. life and was developed by a guy who had no power when his kid had to go to the ER and he decided to find a way to shut the phone down like it used to be with old phones before they were smart. Hope some of this helps. If you get maga batt I got mine off ebay for under 10.00..it has been very very good. My friends have all now decided to do same with their EVO's.
