I couldn't stand the dust under the screen. It's multiplying in there, it must be dust-bunny mating season and they got their paws on some ExtenZe.

I'm on the phone with HTC and their going to e-mail me a label to return it for a  2-week repair.

I'm hoping that after they clean it out and send it back to me (my only option because I had it engraved and I don't want a replacement) that I won't have to worry about this anymore. I've heard of some people having the same problem after sending it in :(.

Send a note with the phone that states: "If I get this phone with dust under the screen again, I'll cut off your balls and shove'em so far up your butt, you'll be tasting testies for the rest of your natural life." I'm sure that'll get their attention. :p

I would but I'm afraid they'll charge me the $28 they held as an "authorization" just in case it's out of warranty. :)

Wow you guys must live in some dirty places, I work on a construction site and have no dust under my screen.

Get the vacuum out now and again. ;-)

I live in a near dust-free environment. I'm asthmatic :D

i've never heard such a ridiculous statement. there's dust EVERYWHERE. you being asthmatic has nothing to do with it, unless you live and work in a clean room.

as for the bit about the two week "repair" and how that "stinks"... that's what you get. you had the thing engraved. google warns you that when you get the phone engraved, you wont be eligible for replacements, only for repairs if you have an issue under warranty. that's why i didn't do it. that and the fact that i couldn't think of anything that wasn't stupid to get engraved :D

I'm glad I don't have any dust under mine but to be honest unless it was a lot of dust it probably wouldn't bother me. I've fixed peoples phones that have so much dust under the glass after being smashed and used for such a long time you wonder how they ever used the damn thing.

I have a screen protector on my N1 now and there's 2 'grains' of dust on the bottom right which actually annoy the hell out of me. They're invisible when the screen protector is pulled up but as soon as you put it back down it leaves 2 rather large circles where the protector obviously wont sit flush with the glass.

I still wonder how you can get dust in between the glass and LCD though as it's sealed pretty tight around the edge of the LCD.

LOL, great example of how to contribute NOTHING to the thread. Let us use this as an example of what NOT to post. :) And I'm not mad about what you said, but it's like your pointing and laughing at one of my mishaps, but your a half blind dwarf with a crooked finger.

For one, about the repair (as you mentioned with the unnecessary quotation marks) - for lack of a better term, "no shit" I knew about the consequences and I'd rather have mine repaired than replaced with a refurbished one anyway, I'm not the one who said it "stinks".

Second, you got me at an exaggeration (even though I said NEAR dust-free), but if you possess any knowledge of what an "asthmatic" is you would know that it is not uncommon for us to strive to keep our home and work area as free of dust as is possible because dust, at least for me anyway, is one of the major contributors to an attack.

- You're right in that I cannot physically pick every spec of dust out of the air, but I can at least keep my area as clean as possible. (My post was in response to "Wow you guys live in dirty places" although I'm sure he was joking).

I say this with the utmost respect and mean absolutely no offense, c'mon man don't be a dumb-ass, well at least not one who's a half blind dwarf with crooked fingers anyway, they creep me out.

nice post.
thanks for posting what i only thought :)

sorry bout your dust issue. small or large: any detraction from such a beautiful screen will be a distraction...hope you get it resolved.

plus i feel your pain a bit: waiting on a replacement for my damaged screen so i know what it's like to be "all up in" the forums, missing your baby. Maybe it's a coping mechanism huh?

good luck to you anotherfatalepic
