Help How to save battery

Hi Muks, there are some tweaks (turning off autobrightness, 3G/WiFi when you don't need them and turning off autosync) that will work across all phones. What have you tried so far? Bear in mind that for the first 10 or so charge cycles the battery won't perform at its best as it needs to settle.

I'll move your post to the A85 section, hopefully owners will be able to give you some decent tips on how to get more out of the battery. :)

Hi,

I currently do the same time, turn of Brightness, no Sync, No Bluetooth....

I am not sure of the Tweaks as such, what i know is the battery performed good after using the Custom rom in A70.......anything like that ?
if you have rooted the phone then use the battery tweaks of a70 they may increase it.

and also calibrate your battery
that is charge the phone to 100% and let it drain to 0%and switch off now again charge to 100% and use it
this has increased my battery life try it

Hi Guys,

I need a great help from you guys....

I just brought A85 and these MMX(MC) says there is no gingerbread update....

Can someone plz tell how can i save battery life....

Can i use the tweaks of A70 in it?

Please help

I am giving a optimization tip,use it it will
improve ur mobile battery performance for
sure...
1>always keep ur mobile switch off during
charging
2>usefast reboot app(download it from
market for free)...when u start ur
mobile u will see android os has opened
lots of unnecessary apps, they kill ur ram &
battery, even mobile guard app cant kill all
this apps...so use fast reboot app..really a
light app & very useful..dont use any other
apps(they actly kill ur memory and
battery)...fast beboot app & mobile guard
app really saves a lot of ram & battery...i
use both fast reboot app & mobile guard
app widget..this 2 app helps a lot...u can
also go to settings>application>running app
& there force stop map,market,netquin
antivirus(when u r using them)...they waste
ur battery & ram...always before switching
ur screen off use fast reboot app & mobile
guard app optimize option...it take only
1sec to optimize ur mobile...
3>use Zeam launcher(highly
recommended I use it in my a70 but don't know how will it be in ur a85 though a85 also run on froyo)...i hav tried many launchers
starting from default lancher to launcher
pro,golauncher ect..but i hv found Zeam
launcher is very good...very light
launcher...really saves a lot of ram &
battery...my standby battery life has
improved a lot afer using zeam launcher...
if u follow above mention 3 points u will see
better battery life & more ram will be
available...
4>keepgprs,gps,wifi off when not using
them...

THIS IS FOR ALL ANDROID PHONES >>BUT SINCE I HAVE MMX A85 I can give this advice :D

Best of all leave your phone as it is ...any extra battery saver app you try to install will increase app activity(even battery saver) as it will try to connect to internet. I have read many advices and this is the sum up of all the above points to save battery.:)

1.(Obviously) Switch off all Wi-fi, gprs, bluetooth, gps and on them when only needed. Lowering screen brightness is obvious solution (make habit of incresing before u go out out sunlight and decreasing when u enter home/office)

[THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. MOST BATTERY SAVER APPS DO THIS IN THEIR PROGRAMMING BUT WE CAN DO THIS MANUALLY(easily) AND CLEAR RAM IN ONE TOUCH]
2. They gave app manager as default app. Put that on home screen and use kill all function before every time you lock/unlock your phone ...you should make it habit like in windows we have rightclick--> refresh button.(improves 50% battery) ;)

3. Use 2G network only option also saves battery if you are on a 3G SIM (improves 20% battery):)

4. If you are a true power user you won't care about launcher and appearance, any extra launcher will take up extra ram and processor for battery because they will try to connect to internet and promote their own third party apps. So stick to the default launcher/launcher+

5. Uncheck some options
a. settings-> Wireless and networks -> Wi-Fi Settings-> [(Uncheck) Network Notification]
b. settings-> Location and Security -> [(Uncheck) Use wireless networks] android continuously sends data to google
c. settings -> display -> Screen Time out(put it to lowest)
d. settings -> Accounts and settings - > Uncheck bacground Data and uncheck auto sync.

I have done all the above and here are my observations

1. Got battery back up of 10 hrs with continous wi-fi browsing by following above settings.
2. Camera use of 2 hour total through out the day and calls i was left with 40% battery by night. I killed all apps and after 7 hours woke up in the morning to find out battery was 30%..I recorded 17hrs of battery with 69% standby use.:D:cool:
3. I played games and in 4 hours my battery went down from 95 to 30%. (Games are the maximum drainer we can't help that):(
4. Today I gave my little sister to play games for 2 hours, than i took out my phone and took some pics/ some calls....... all on high brightness ..and now my phone is 14% battery it is showing 10hrs of use.:p

Dude 10 hour wifi not possible
2nd one coule be
everything is correct for maximum power but 10 hours not possible
and moreover for better battery backup switch to sunnykale's rom 2.2 as stated in the forum

10 hours in the sense i used it for may be 6 hours with gaps like 1hr use than 1hr gap than 2 hr use than 2hr gap and then 3hr use and 1hr gap then phone swithced off..and it was normal browsing with screen dimmed and all apps closed ...But wi-fi was on all the time even on standby.

I Will test it again upload a time fast forward video ...2morrow I am free...lets see ..

just downloaded Sunny kale ...will have to find a way to root my current OS and back up before I try ...still trying to find an Exploit

Task Killers (which is what that sounds like) are actually bad for Android and can have a detrimental effect on battery life. I can get you some links explaining it if you like?
