Help Constantly Overheating!

so, the first couple months with the phone were great. the last week has been driving me crazy, though. I was having issues with the phone "overheating" and going into cooldown mode more and more often. To test it, I got an app called battery indicator to display my battery temp. It almost seems as if the temp sensor has gone haywire. The phone can be sitting on my desk, not having been touched in some time, near no source of heat, and the temp will shoot to 130+ and go into cooldown mode. Also, more and more recently, it skips cooldown mode all together and simply shuts itself down. It mistakenly gives me low battery warnings, so I plug it in just to be safe. When plugged in, the battery drops to a reasonable temperature (60 or so), but as soon as I unplug it, the temp shoots up to 130+, says its overheating, and shuts down. As soon as I start it back up, it immediately says its overheating and shuts down again. Only after repeating this several times will the phone operate as normal. All times while it says that it is overheating, the phone is cool to the touch. The phone has never been rooted or messed with at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not to be a negative Ned, but when the ambient temps get up to summer norms, I think more folks will notice the heat dissipation characteristics of the Razr a lot more than they have. Especially the display.

This is something that I have considered as well. Reading multiple reviews for the Razr, there have been other mentions of overheating, though not as bad as I've been experiencing. I'm curious as to how well these phones will hold up during the summertime.

Is this a known problem with the Razr in hot weather? If it is, I wonder if the case that I have on the phone will make it worse?

I know this is kind of bringing this thread back from the dead, but I got things resolved. The issues I was having were getting worse, to the point where the phone would only work when plugged in, and eventually, it was just a brick. Verizon replaced it free under warranty, with some impressively fast shipping. However, one thing to note is that warranty replacements cannot be taken care of in store. They gave me an 800 number to call. It has been nearly 2 months since my predicament, and the new phone seems much better. Battery life seems much better (relatively speaking). I must have just ended up with a bad device from the get go.

Nothing for nothing..... I use the hell out of my phone. I mean constantly on the internet, downloading stuff, watching videos, texting, email... All day long. My phone has never even remotely gotten warm. I would bet you have a bad unit.
How long does your battery stand with that hard a usage. And do you keep it at full brightness too ?
