6.12.173 update is now official

***Update*** after update NO 4g or 3G. (Wifi was fine but no other connection) Called Verizon, power off, pull IM card, power on. Iniitally this did nothing, for about an hour .(did this all while driving talking on one phone and working on this phone) .The plan was for them to call me back and we would do a full factory reset.

I let the phone sit for the ride to work (30 mins). Just checked and full 4g connection! Not sure why, but if you have this problem, you may want to wait it out a bit to see if the system update takes a little while.

I am stock, non rooted

To Verizons credit, they were helpful, professional, gave me a time and called back at that time and advised that they will call me back in an hour before the techs shift ends to make sure that there are not any outstanding issues. Well done from a customer perspective.

Whew! ;)

Got the update this morning... SE PA. Added some extra bloatware, restored root and froze all of that. Not a huge difference..change to menu at homescreen and icons are different in settings. Don't have 4g where I am, but 3g is working just fine so far. Quadrant scores bumped up a little, nothing major. Don't have a corporate exchange email, but regular email and gmail work fine.

Make sure that Data is enabled. I have seen reports where it was turned off after the update.

I got the message "The software update failed!" after doing the OTA today. I temp removed root with RootKeeper and did the Uninstall Recovery for Safestrap before downloading the OTA and then uninstalled Safestrap completely after the first failure. During the upgrade after the initial reboot the progress bar goes about 1/3 of the way, shows a triangle with an exclamation point inside of it, and then reboots and the error message appears with no other error details. I have a stock RAZR with the latest 6.11.748 installed with no deleted or frozen bloat. The only things I did were root and installed and ran Safestrap. I pulled the log with Log Collector but it looks to be only a log since the last reboot and not during the update when the error occurred.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Everything seems to be good with it from my experience, one thing I have noticed though is when I am on wifi, and cellular data is turned off via smart actions, all of my signal bars go away. I tired making a call and it slowly comes back to threee bars. Has anyone else seen this? While I was in a 3G area the signal was great and the hand off to 4G was very quick. :)
