How do i install from Android 2.1? I have never installed custom rom and what i have is rooted stock firmware.
When is the camera going to be fixed?
And is there a possibility of bricking my phone?

To install from 2.1, follow these instructions here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-gt...nogenmod-7-android-2-3-4-avaliable-gt540.html but don't use the CyanogenMod 7 installer, use the one found here

Camera should be partially working in the next beta.

There's always a possibility of bricking, but if you follow my instructions properly, you won't brick

You can't because Mike hasn't provided the .img's to be able to flash it through fastboot..

my phone not detecting the sd card since Sept last year..
One day by chance, my phone detected the sd card then I flash the ICS 4.0 by mike and this solved the problem(I use ICS for several day without any problem regarding SD card) and then I switch back to ASIS.
Today the phone not detecting the SD card again =.=

There's been problems with SwiftDroid and some SD cards, it depends on the class of you SD card. If you really want to stick with SwiftDroid, you need an SD card with a compatible class. If not, switch to ICS

One final question,
to avoid boot looping, I have to wipe cache partition or wipe dalvik cache?

In recovery wipe data, it will wipe cache partition and dalvik cache.

The GT540 can't handle Flash, which is why you can't get it.

Our CPU cannot handle flash, thats why the phone is incompatible with it, nothing rom devs can do about it.

Problem. I tried to install 4.0 but now the phone wont work
I installed it trough recovery and at first it went all ok.When i tried to turn it on, the LG screen came on,ok.then the shards came flying,at first it was a bit slow.Then after a minute or so, it stops completely,wth should i do now?

-All the CM updates like overclocking in settings
-Genlock, overlay, libqcomui, titlerender to make rom liquid smooth
-KGSL 3.0 in kernel is supported(the gpu driver from 3.0 kernel)
-Camera works now but it has no preview and recording support(luck of codecs, to be fixed in next ver)
-Wifi shows signal and turns on without any problems(new supplicant)
-The timezone fix is inside for not working sim cards
-System is around 180mb with gapps inside
-You can watch youtube with lags instead(omxcore is inside,now fighting with hardware render)

-Full codecs and camera
-Tethers
-Kernel 3.0 I am porting

The rom isn’t bug free due to many 3.0 drivers. Deal with it for now

Nope, screen calibration is about the hardest thing to do so devs leave it awhile and the rom has alot more important things to fix first.

I imagine you forgot to wipe data before you flashed, boot to recovery (hold the home button when you switch it on until the LG logo has disapeared) then scroll to "Wipe data/factory reset" then select yes and it should solve your problems.

It seems like the rom has flashed ok because its showing the boot animation.
