best twitter app

my vote right now is for seesmic. multiple accounts for free ( i am a student pastor at a large, multi-site church and i have personal as well as church related accounts).

my only complaint about twidroid is for whatever reason, everytime i tried twitpic within twidroid itself, it ALWAYS told me the image was not correct format and would not let me post.

here is hoping tweetdeck will be available soon....please.....

Cool, bro! God bless your ministry. Love hearing about the use of technology in ministry. I know I love putting Android to work for Him ;)

And you're right, Seesmic does support multiple accounts. And for those who have multiple accounts, Seesmic is the only place to go right now I think.

i saw a website today that kept track of the most popular twitter apps on droid and they are as follows (in most popular to least):

1.) Seesmic (im guessing because its free and has multiple accounts)
2.) Twidroid (*Pro needed for multiple accounts)
3.) Tweetcaster (*Pro needed for ad removal - FREE has multiple accounts)
4.) Touiteur (*Pro needed for multiple accounts)

I've been using Seesmic because of the free multiple accounts, but I do want to purchase one but Twidroid/Tweetcaster/Touiteur are so close in comparison that I can't decide which one to get. What would you guys suggest in terms of purchasing one of these? I'm looking for the best features and most reliable and ease of use...

Tweetcaster here also. I tried all other mentioned apps (except Twicca) and always went back to Tweetcaster.

I too have tried just about all the others and settled for Tweetcaster Premium, the interface is simply awesome, I've had this one running since it came out, brought the premium in about two days. Though I don't need it yet, you can have multiple accounts as well, check #trends, #searches, and #nearby

Tried them all, and keep going back to twidroid paid version. Seesmic a close 2nd place with tourtier in 3rd. This is probably because twidroid has been out the longest so its pretty much a robust app. I think tourtier will be great in the long run, its just a bit slow and sometimes the users pics dont show for whatever reason.... Like all apps, they just take a few updates to become solid, and with the dev behind the tourtier app im sure it will be perfect soon enough.

i guess im inclined to use seesmic now, been switching between all the major twitter apps everyday.

i love touiteur (spelling?) but i can't seem to find a 'save search' option or to view my saved searches, also it doesn't have an search option for 'users'.

twidroid i enjoy but i get confused on how to do certain things... maybe its not my cup of tea...

tweetcaster has been the most used for me because it has everything right on top -- all the options from selecting profiles to saved searches and trends.. only thing i do not like is it seems to go a bit slower for me.

i want to find a dedicated twitter app but i still can't decide! if just those two things were implemented in touiteur i'd buy that but i can't find the options.. and whatever the case im going to be keeping seesmic on my phone because its simply the fastest for me.

anyone see a save search function on Touiteur? or a way to view your saved searches? also is it just me or does it lack the 'user' and 'trends' option in search found on other apps?

im pretty new to the whole twitter thing but is going through 'search' the only way to join/view a discussion by various users on say... #droid or #android ? and why are hash marks (#) used?

I used Twidroid for a while, and still like it except for the fact that it is a big app (MB wise). I tried Seesmic and didn't like. Tried several others that just didn't meet my needs.

My current favorite is Tweetcaster Premium (had to get rid of the ads). Its easy to use, looks nice, has the settings and most of the features I like and use.

I kind of like Touiteur as well, it looked real nice. However, I couldn't get past the problem that I could only see the last 40 tweets in my timeline, and then it would start showing my @username tweets...in my timeline? I couldn't see anyone else tweets? Wondered if had something to do with my custom 2.0 ROM?

I use Touiteur, does nearly everything i need it to.

Do any of the apps listed above have access to update facebook status as well?

I know tweetdeck has this on the iPhone, but the've not released a version on android yet...

Try to use facebook apps. I used to use the Twitter app in fb that posted every tweet to fb status, but I recently switched to selective tweets which allows me to add "#fb" to the end of my tweet and it posts to fb status.

so no user search on touitier (i hate spelling that name!!) and no 'save search' function??

for those using twidroid --> how come when i search for something, say #droid, and i try to compose a message all i get is the search bar? can i not type a message after i search?

general questtion about twitter --> what are '#' marks for? does any apps allow auto input of the '#' mark (like how they do with @name)?

thank you!@!
