Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning all! Looks like it definitely quieted down early last night; hope everyone had a great time with their valentine :D
Dinner came out really nice even though I nearly burned the kitchen down
The lady said the fish was really nice, I didn't try any. Anyway, snapped a photo of the plate to share: Pan Roasted Sea Bass, Grapefuit sauce, avocado; herbed orzo, and some greet beans with almond. Thankfully I kept it real simple :)

So for Valentine's Day, we sat down with a life insurance agent, and will be taking out 500k policies on each other. I figure while not a traditional way to celebrate, its still a nice symbol of our love that if one of us is gone, we want the other to be well taken care of.

Either that or my wife has hatched a plan from all the 48 hours she watches... Uh oh. ;)

Nice! We had Pizza Hut, then my wife did class work for her masters class, and I watched my MSU Bulldogs blow a 17 point lead to LSU and lose. Fun night, lol.

Good morning all! Spousal unit and I had a nice time for Valentine's last night. We did Olive Garden takeout (the place was a zoo with over an hour wait, not surprisingly) and since it's only a couple of miles from our house, it was convenient. The food was good, but I don't know if I'd order my entree again. We even served it by courses. We ate it by candlelight with Adele and Louie Armstrong/Ella Fitzgerald playing on wife's Fruit Phone. We had a nice time and the on-call Blackberry remained mercifully quiet for the duration of the evening. It was a quiet evening, and that's just fine with us!

So...apparently Swype's employees are confused by what "end of the month" and "a few days" mean. Last month they said ICS and the Gnex would be supported with their end of month update...end of month came and went 2 weeks ago and nothing. Then last week they said it would be out in a few days. That was a week ago, not a few days IMO.

sounds like they took their lessons from Verizon.....anyone remember 'Soon'

I am running FlexT9 which, like Swype, is owned by Nuance. I had Swype on my D2 and it really is no different than Flex. I kind of wonder if Nuance is just selling Flex as their consumer app while Swype is their OEM solution. They could probably make a lot of coin if they just renamed Flex to Swype.

Which one???

Morning all...we actually did a V-day special from dominos for dinner, couple of crime dramas on the telly...and cuddled on the couch. Nice evening. Hope everyone had a great Loved-day.!!!
Have a great Hump day!!! Almost the end of the week, with a 3 day weekend coming up...always goes slow till the weekend...then flies by.
Have a new home comp to build, setting it up to transfer all my dev stuff to. Gotta get cracking, so I can actually work again. Feeling kinda lost without a working comp at home, aside from a sever, so I am using my Nexus as a temp replacement.....works pretty good, but really need a new comp. My last build lasted 10 years and has now been passed on to the kids, so I can get a new toy!!!!

Hey y'all!

The Wife and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day din din. Mind you we work opposite schedules to keep the baby out of day care and she wasn't supposed to work yesterday but picked up a shift to help a fellow employee!

So I get home after doing the baby swap at her store to find an unexpected VDay card. Wonderfully thoughtful and well written. I had stopped off at the market to get milk on my way home and ended up buying a few things for dinner including one pound of prawns.

I cooked fried rice with oven baked breaded chicken (proprietary recipe), with the prawns pan fried in EVOO, butter, garlic cloves and garlic powder. And of course, my Wife's favorite, sourdough french bread garlic and paprika seasoned and glazed with EVOO! A little Pinot Grigio and a kiss made for a wonderful evening. And we are all caught up with The Bachelor.

Anyone else getting some burn in on the top of their screen from the status bar? Just noticed it while running full screen in the browser, kind of bums me out but I expected it.

honestly how does this even happen is your screen on 24/7? i mean its just over two months old how can that happen so fast?

Yup it happens and will happen it's the nature of these OLED panels. Although "burn-in" and "image retention" are terms thrown around too lightly within the home theater world, they do differ. Image retention can look just like burn-in, but can be remedied. You should see my friends Sammy Captivate geesh it's bad. Hope ours has improved over those panels!

Ya wonder why Google made the noti bar icons blue and gray? They're darker than white and do not have full brightness. That's why I believe they did it.

The key to keep from suffering from this effect is to change up your layout/status bar. Don't keep it the same for months on end and most importantly don't use a theme that changes the noti bar icons white or any color that is very bright against a dark background. Think of it as you would a PDP plasma display

I Mean that makes sense but this soon it almost seams like a defective screen if the retention is already occurring now
