Wow, so i said i wasnt going to look up the floor plans or read the agenda, but i guess someone did that for me! Nice work soldier!

Thanks, I just wanted to visualize it myself. Btw, did you add the "carrier - color" to my original post? Blue is not T-Mobile, it's AT&T. T-Mobile is the little tiny mangeta speck on the left. Actually really hard to see since I had to make it so small to fit on the forum.

If I could make a request that you not alter my original post when you quote me. Please leave what I say intact. Doing so makes me look like an idiot, like "TMobile - Blue". :(

That brings up another question. Is T-Mobile insurance even available for the N1 since it's sold through google?

dunno, VZW's insurance isn't cheap. $1.99 per month for extended warranty (looks like manufacturers defects), $6 per month for third party insurance. $89 deductable too. $7.99 a month for extended warranty and 3rd party coverage. $89 deductible.

The $6 seems like the logical coverage. That's kinda steep though, especially if you never use it.

I read on yahoo answers (don't know how accurate it is) that if you break your phone or something you can go in and Verizon will allow you to purchase a new phone at the 1 year contract pricing.

Anyone confirm that?

I had after the same phone broke twice and they offered me to change it with another phone and pay the difference.

I wondered about the extra $1.99 for extended warranty. Why get that? I mean, for $6/month, if you find a manufacturer's defect, drop the damn thing from your bedroom window. I suppose extended warranty is direct replacement and won't cost you the $89 deductible.

Here's something to keep in mind, although I don't know how VZW deals with devices that are purchased from a Best Buy or Dell.

Dell offers the same "insurance" for Verizon devices for $49 annually from a 3rd party (NCOA). The terms are basically identical to what Verizon offers from Asurion. The difference: no deductible from NCOA.

I am so surprised that a company like Google would ignore marketing a product like the N1 especially being that there is no in store ability to handle the product. They could sell a boatload more devices by a) advertising it and b) placing the product in a store (especially with the push that T-Mobile is making into it's newer markets).

The only thinkg keeping me from buying it is the instore support that comes from buying and handling a phone....in the store. That is a deal breaker and it's not T-Mobile that's keeping them from selling more devices it's Google themselves. Beta was a great product too..........

I think (aka hope) that the reason Google and Tmobile had the setup they did is that Tmobile is desperate for customers (rumors of their parent company selling them off) but could not spend alot of money because of their network speed up grades (which is akin to having a car that goes 300mph but only has a range of 50 miles). Hence you put the phone on Tmobile but Google takes all the risk and monetary reward. Verizon would be a different story (again, I hope).

You are probably right. If they market both phones I think they would use the HTC sense to differentiate. That would be their big plug. HTC sense on the Incredible and the "unlocked option" of the N1.

Maybe there will be some cool, new feature on the Incredible that we don't know about yet that they will use too. I think I read somewhere (maybe in this thread. I haven't read all 43 pages  lol) that the Incredible will have some media or entertainment feature app or program or something right out of the box. Like the T-Mobile HD2 is going to have. I may have misread that, but I am sure I read something like that.

If that were the case I'm sure they will market that heavily.
Nope your correct. As i've posted before. The HTC Incredible is rumored to have amazing media and entertainment capabilities right out of the box. For instance, DivX and Xvid. It's supposed to be an all around better multimedia device than the current stock android phones. Like the music player is supposed to be better and all that. HD video watching etc..If the HTC Incredible really does come with these features, call it a win for me.

I was very interested in learning more about NCOA since you mentioned that no deductible was required. Seems Wirefly and possibly ATT are offering this option too. The reviews I've seen thus far are horrendous. BBB.org has an "F" rating for them and there are threads, while possibly isolated incidents, on CNET recommending people avoid them.

- The link to the BBB can be found here

- Some older CNET reviews here

- Complaints.com stuff here (not sure how reliable this site is)

Anyhow, I hope I have the wrong company because not having a deductible would be exactly what I'm looking for.

True, the 1.99 seems lame. If I have the phone and after 3 months, 6 months, whatever it stops working and is acting funny. I'm gonna go into the store and be like wtf? This thing is a POS and demand I get a replacement. Now if I mess it up then I"m SOL. I think if I go extended warranty it will be the 6 per month...

me too man, I hope I can check it out in store. Even tho Verizon said they would not sell it in store I could totally see them doing a 180 and selling it in store when it is released. Accessories and all. I feel it comes down to 1 thing... The giddy green. If they feel they can make more money and gain more customers (extremely important to them) then they will do it. *hit, Ivan Seidenberg might even dress up like a fraggle and do the Lendale White happy dance if it'd make them some more money.

Yeah, that's it! That's like word for word how I read it. I am anxious to see what all the capabilities are.

Guys, Hockey152 PM'd me a question I thought all might be interested in. Although is doesn't really add any new info, it is somewhat interesting. Many of you know I was in contact with the HTC tester about the video she posted and I reposted an enhanced version. Well Hockey152 wanted to know if I ever asked for any more info on the phone she was testing in the video. And I did ask some questions of course. I expressed my concern for her job and she said that she should be okay since I agreed to take the video down. Also I asked if she could confirm that this phone was the HTC Incredible and that it was headed for Verizon and I also asked if she knew how long until it would be out on the market. Now before you get your hopes up, she would not answer my questions for fear of her email accounts, etc. were being monitored. But she did close her email to me with this.

Please be patient. Hope the incoming new product will satisfy you.

So in a roundabout kinda way, I think she was saying, Yes it's coming, soon, and I hope you like it. Also, I left the door open for her to contact me if she ever felt like she could share anything more. So, we'll see.

Question for you guys...

Is it a slight possibility that the Incredible, Desire and N1 would be announced for Verizon all on the same day?

Is the Desire even going to a carrier in the states?

From the Incredible standpoint, that would muddy the watres so to speak and the average non-forum guy would be confused as to which phone to buy?

I believe rumor is the Desire is going to ATT? I think the Incredible is Verizon's version of the Desire. It is kinda confusing and PLEASE someone correct me if I am wrong. That is how I understand it though.

So it would be the N1 and Incredible launched on the same day. I don't think ATT is going to get the desire for some time yet.

Thanks man! That is good to see. I think March/April is going to be big. Verizon is going to want to launch some big hardware before other companies launch products. T-Mo (HD2), ATT (new iPhone, android phones), sprint (4g phone this summer, probably supersonic).

Verizon's network is nice, but they can't rely solely on that.. What good is an awesome network if you don't have some awesome hardware?

The Desire is rumored to go to AT&T while the HTC Legend is rumored for Sprint.

The Desire is basically exactly the same as the HTC Incredible. Only differences will probably be design (Desire looks a bit more like the Nexus One) the camera will be different (Incredible should be getting a better one with the dual led etc..) and the HTC Incredible is supposed to have a lot more multimedia features out the box like DivX, Xvid, etc..

Basically, to me, the HTC Incredible looks like it will be a better product as long as it comes out with atleast 512mb of RAM

I sure hope. Any possability it is in the 6 or 700 range? Maybe something we never expected?

Regarding the discussions relating to Google changing the way the N1 is sold and instead having distributed through VZW in-store (along with the Incredible) in order to increase sales and visibility... I think we need to consider what Google is trying to accomplish with the N1. Are they really trying to be one of the top phones sales-wise? Google has said all along that they weren't going to get into the hardware business and needed to avoid conflict with other android based products (essentially their Android customers). Android and all the Googleness associated with it is what they want out there. They felt they needed to "raise the bar" as high as they could. I think by selling a feature-rich phone themselves (the N1), they could put pressure on carriers and hardware vendors to come out with high quality smartphones that use Android to the fullest.

I don't believe their goal was to make a lot of money selling N1's... so the arguments that Google would change their sales approach solely for that reason doesn't make sense to me. Now, if they decided to sell the N1 at VZW stores to help with supportability, that may not be a terrible reason.

Doubt it. Some of the test devices only had 256mb which made a lot of us worried. But we put that aside and told ourselves that it will most likely ship with atleast 512mb of RAM seeing all of their top tier phones are coming out with atleast that much, especially if it's coupled with a snapdragon processor.

Note: the HTC Desire actually has more than 512mb of ram as do almost all HTC devices. The processor i believe adds another like 64mb. So basically, the HTC Desire has 576mb of RAM compared to a Nexus One's 512mb of RAM. This probably helps with Sense UI etc..
