Phone lag and Battery life

Hopefully this is not a repeat thread. I searched beforehand and found nothing.

So I know this phone isn't know for blinding speed (at least running it stock), but lately it's having trouble keeping up with text input from the keyboard. Is this normal? I am using taskiller to kill any not needed background apps and normally have over 120mb left in RAM. Any tips on what I can do to fix this? I'm trying to hold off rooting until I get the t-mobile update.

Also, does the phone normally give inaccurate battery readings to the widgets? Because I am literally looking at the phone and watching the percentage go up... up 6 percent in the last hour. lol anyone else getting this?

Thanks :)

do you have a bunch of text msgs on your phone? ( threads?)

whenever i reach close to 1000 in one thread.. my phones keyboard starts to lag alittle bit

apparently task killers reall dont do much.. and im starting to beleive that.. HOWEVER if you have it rooted.. you can download an app called auto killer.. which.. since i got it working is amazing! i dont use any task killer and my phone seems to always run fast now!

Well one was at about 600, but I deleted them all and the problem still didnt go away even after a restart. And I didn't really want to root before I got the t-mobile update.

Anyone have thoughts on the battery issue?
