About Screen Protectors

So tomorrow is finally the day. I can finally put my Droid X to rest and get what everyone has been raving over, and the Gnex. However there's one thing I need to know. Are screen protectors absolutely necessary for this phone? I never wore on my DX and all I've gotten were tiny scratches that you could only see when the screen is off and you clean it really well

Mine is naked and has no scratches after 2 months

I have been very careful with it, always put it in my pocket facing screen to leg and never put anything remotely sharp in with it

after 2 years my Droid had three minor scratches on it that were hardly noticeable

in the end do what you are comfortable with, personally I wouldn't want anything on top of my screen

Hi folks

I am also looking for screen protectors. Watched some video clips on YouTube, yet I don't know how the wet screen protectors work, what sort of liquids are they, is that alcohol kind of fluid?

Also I heard about Verizon and GSM version, I bought the phone today and it is GT-I9250, so which version it belongs to, I don;t have a clue from the leaflet which comes with the box it says nothing about Verizon or GSM.

Thanks!

Many people have not used a screen protector and their screens are still flawless. Many people have not used a screen protector and their screens have anything from minor to major scratches. Depending on your tolerance for scratches should dictate whether you get a screen protector. There is definitely the risk of scratches with this phone.

Should you go the screen protector route, I can highly, highly recommend the XO Skins. You seriously can't tell it's on there by looking at the phone. You can feel it at first, but over time (i.e., a couple weeks), the stickiness decreases drastically, but never goes away 100%. Still, totally awesome.

On my first GNex, I was very careful, only carrying in my pocket, face-in, with nothing else in the pocket. I still got a small scratch in the middle of the face. It's not keys that do it, it's small grains of sand or debris.

Fortunately, I was able to exchange it at Costco, due to reception issues & drop-outs. I immediately went to Best Buy and had them install a Zagg protector. I haven't tried the others that are quite popular, but the Invisible Shield is working well for me. I was primarily interested in not repeating my experience with the first phone.

Bottom line -- yes, it will scratch.

Completely agree! Very happy with my XO. Some people who have used my phone couldn't even tell their was a screen protector on
