Ok, long story short.
I will be listening to Pandora and any wheres from first song being played to 2 hours later Pandora will start to get glichy, kind of like a scratched CD for a few seconds.

Then the next thing I notice is Pandora is shut down but still stuck in my tool bar. Or it is restarting as though loading up a new station, not restarting from the splash screen. And other times it just shuts down completly. No error messages or anything.

It almost makes me think that the Program Monitoring might be killing Pandora.

Anyone having the same problem, or know of a fix. It almost makes me want to go back to my 3G blackberry that could play all day nonstop.

First, check for updates. I know that Pandora just released one either today or yesterday. Another thing that helps is to just shut Pandora down and restart it. Menu > Quit.

Hope this helps. :)

Yeah I just got the updates today. Still no luck. Even contacted Pandora and tried their recommended trouble shooting tips. No luck.

Yeah i wouldnt mind having to restart it but it happens at least once every 1/2 hour I would have to restart it. Just kind of driving me nuts because I sit behind a desk all day at work. And before this samsung I was on Virgin mobile with a blackberry 8530, which would play nonstop for hours straight.

Well my phone keeps shutting down Pandora even after changing that setting. :-( I'm now rooted and I'm trying to find out if there's an app thats closing it. I'm thinking it might be the built in task manager thats auto killing but i'm not sure. I can't believe there aren't more people trying to figure this out?

I'm rooted, so likely a root issue. Anyone not rooted have the problem? I've removed memory managers, disabled power management etc with no luck. It does seem to only happen when on wifi, mobile does not seem to be impacted but my sample size isn't nearly as large(guess i'll have to give the 5Gig limit a test). I was able to recreated it during wifi loss while leaving the house, but not consistently. For a Samsung product this is pretty typical in my experience.

I am rooted, and run Pandora every night on WiFi for 2-3 hours with no problems at all.

Actually this is my 2nd Samsung Exhibit 2 and I had this same issue with or without being rooted so unless both my phones have been defective(which I think is unlikely) then it must be something else... The people not having problems...are you on prepaid or postpaid? I'm on the $30 5gb data prepaid plan. Just wondering if maybe its only the prepaid customers having the issue...tonight i'm gonna try removing all of the unecessary apps that are ok to remove according to the all things root thread and hope that removing something helps.

Anyone else seen this crash while on 4G vs wifi? I've tested for about on 4G vs work wifi and it hasn't crashed in 3 hours on 4G, switched to wifi and crashed in less than 15min....both home and work crash about the same rate so i think a wifi driver/chip in the phone maybe causing some issues. So if this is true is it a game of returns until you get a working unit(likely 10-50% have the issue based on the feedback here) or just get a higher quality phone and dump this piece of samsung trash.

I've been experiencing these crashes on both 4g and wifi so I didn't even think about the radio being an issue. I tried uninstalling a ton of apps and didn't help so I just gave up on that. I basically only need Pandora to function while I'm at work all day so I decided i'm going to wifi tether and just use my old phone to play pandora all day. I know it might sound a little silly but its the only work around I can think of for now and its been working all day. I love the $30 4g plan too much to give it up that easily. I still hope this issue gets resolved someday but for now this will have to do.

Ive tested everything network related, it does it randomly no matter what type of connection you have..interesting thing though if you just wait long enough itll start up on its own....it really isnt that bad to restart and its infrequent enough not to bother me and i just keep some workout sounds loaded for when it would...i've chalked it up to typical poor samsung quality, but considering how much works gps, phone quality and the price im ok with it...

So out of curiosity I decided to try a similar app like Pandora to see if the same thing happened. I downloaded Jango and these random shut downs don't happen with this app. I actually really like Jango as much if not more than Pandora because you get unlimited skips. I'll stick to Jango for now until someone finds another solution. Hoping maybe a custom rom will fix this Pandora/slacker radio issue. I'm running Peach Sunrise and I do like it but I'm sure I'll be trying another rom soon because I like testing them. :)

Jango works flawless! Only down side its how to keep the screen turned on when playing. I have tried a few screen on apps that recognize apps as they are running but then it seems as though the screen on apps take a dump after 30 mins or so while jango is still playing. Did I run across something there. Is that the issue that Pandora and Slacker both have. Because they have screen control options is that what is causing them to shut down. Where jango doesn't so it keeps on playing with out glitches.

Noticed my internal USB storage of a massive 1.6Gigs was full the other day when google music album art wasn't updating and if pandora requires a certain amount of cache to stream this small amount of memory could be part of the problem. Also the internal ram is pretty small on this guy so that is likely a culprit as well(will need to try a kill all setting in a memory manager).
