Hey folks, I just an invite into the closed beta! Wish me luck!

EDIT: Has anyone else gotten in?

Congrats! I beat the beta a few weeks ago, I kinda rushed it... ordered 2 collector's editions, I can't wait for it to be released!

I did the same. I was taking my laptop everywhere with me so I could beat it lol. Nothing was really a contender for me. I would just plow through crap. Mages being overpowered ftw! In any event, the game should be really fun. I can't wait for the retail release.

Well, that about sums it up doesn't it. I really like d2, never played d1, so I guess once I get a decent computer, I'll have to snag on to this... :D

The gfx completely caught me off guard and are stunning. The gameplay is virtually the same with some minor changes, but it's just the environment and world that makes it all go round. Absolutely great game. You won't be disappointed.

I was a hardcore Diablo 2 player. Me and both of my brothers. I played it all the time from age 14-16. Back before the epic runeword items ruined the PVM. I did play it when i was 18 for half a year, but it wasnt the same as patch .09. The runewords, to me, ruined most of the pvp and pvm, however the Runewords and Enigma did create the WW barb, wind druid, and summoner druid that could teleport. Those 3 characters were so much fun in PvP. Id go back to D2 if it was reversed to patch .09.

Me and both of my brothers were also WoW players, for many years. We eventually got bored and quit, then played again, quit, played again and quit. We were tempted to return but decided not to.

Im hoping Diablo 3 will be the ultimate dungeon crawler, and RPG for that matter. Im a bit worried that it wont run smooth on my laptop. I dont want to upgrade to a gaming laptop, but if i cant run D3 i guess ill sell this one and buy a new one.

Right now my dream is me and both of my brothers playing Diablo 3 together, questing together, and hopefully dueling each other. We played WoW together a little bit, it was a lot of fun. Playing with a family member in the same house is a whole different experience to playing with online players i dont know. I cant wait for D3!

Man, I cannot wait for Diablo III either... They have taken long enough to release it! I first heard they were doing a third Diablo when I first started going to college at the end of 2007! Five years is a long time to wait for someone who was absolutely addicted to diablo II for the longest time. I played D2 for probably 4-5 years straight. I stopped for a while but I am actually playing it online again right now and will be pre-ordering D3 very soon. (I am a pretty big gamer, but I have never pre-ordered a game). It's gonna be awesome.

Wha? How did you do that?

Long story, but to make it short - I have a buddy that works at a local GameStop and he gave me a butt load of WoW time cards which amounted to something like 14 months (7 cards) and if you sign up for the annual pass you get D3 for free. So that's what I did. I signed up and I have D3 sitting on my desktop waiting for 5/15. I'll cancel once the year is up and I'll have gotten D3 for free.

So, what's everyone going to choose as their first class in D3?

My buddy and I are getting the game at the same time and will be questing together. He's planning on making a Witch Doctor, so I figured I'd pick a melee class to balance the party. Barbs are awesome, but I want something new, so I'm going to pick Monk. Some of the Monk attacks are seriously impressive, and his Mantras are just like the Paladin's Auras in D2, including the ability to benefit everyone in your party. Plus, his Level 1 AoE spell, Breath of Heaven, both damages enemies and heals not only the Monk, but everyone in the party nearby as well.
