the perfect size.....

How are you dealing with the lack of a sdcard, hdmi, and usb? I was looking at it yesterday and was wondering if the 16gigs would be enough. I got the xoom family edition instead but the 8.9 did feel just right for me and the screen is BEAUTIFUL on the Samsung!! I haven't even opened my tablet yet, still debating. The 150 jump and less ports makes me wonder but that SCREEN!!

I bought my 8.9 yesterday. I like the size.. but then, it makes many web pages text difficult to read. hmnm...

Agree! I picked one up a few days ago and returned it the next day.... I can easily read on my 10.1 but the text size was really small and hard to read on the 8.9....

Loved the size and weight though..... if bad eyesight plagues someone (like me) then they might want to consider the 10.1 instead....

I am leaning towards the 8.9. Like another poster, I am also concerned about lack of SD card, ports, and no access to the battery.

I think I can deal with the lack of SD card and ports because there are accessory connectors and cloud options. So my question is about getting the 16gb vs the 32gb. Is 16gb enough for general use? I am not going to be storing my entire music collection or tons of movies/videos, but I do like to download and play with lots of apps. Does it make sense to upgrade to the 32gb?

Regaring the battery, I know this tablet has only been out for a fee months, but does anyone have experience with Samsung batteries in general? If that battery loses its ability to hold a charge, then the tablet becomes disposable. At $400+ does that really make sense? I am having a hard time justifying it.

Aside from these concerns, I played with the 8.9 in the store the other day and it is a beautiful device. Gorgeous display, perfect size and form factor, comfortable to hold, etc. And these are the things that are really important in a tablet.

Thanks ahead for any input.

I have had the 8.9 32 gig wifi for a week now. I love it perfect size etc, and my main uses will be blogging and photography (with real camera) I have Dropbox and usb sticks etc. As for the battery its brilliant, can last over a day on medium heavy use and if you treat it right like letting agents it drain before next big charge you won't wear it out that much.

You should consider Ebay. I got mine from Ebay UK £279 it an American Manufacturers (Samsung) Refurb. It worked fine out of box etc and looks fine.

seems like the perfect size to me. Going to order tomorrow

One last question Riche. If i'm storing music and photos in the cloud and just putting what photos i need for work.. maybe 50 or so on the tablet, do i have any need to consider the 32gig or would the 16gig work fine?

Which size do you have?

Apart from the 16/32 size difference, is there any other difference between the two tabs?

I have the 32 gig as since there is no micro sd slot, even though I will use usb sticks etc with adapter I won't always have wifi or cloud access. There is is not any difference in I believe, but if you're a willing to get a barging like a refurbished one I'd say just get the 32 gig one

Think of what sort of apps you may use etc and if you plan too root and use Cwm backup as they and photo's and music do take up space. I have about 20 gig too play with now, I used 8 gig only about 28 gig was free too use as 4 gig goes on system files it seems. Like anything if you nearly fill it full it my become slower etc.
